Nope, there are bones in her urn, too. They're small, though. We didn't see her, but right after we got her back, my Dad kind'a shook the urn around and we heard her bones clickin'.

It doesn't freak me out that bad, but Andrew told me that he watched a video of an old lady getting cremated, and he said some VERY UNPLEASANT THINGS, like her tongue swelled up and exploded. I was thoroughly grossed the fuck out.

But that beats the alternative of just rotting in your coffin for all eternity, underground and sealed in. Yuck. Of course you might get built on top of (which is inevitable), or even MOVED...which freaks me out, too. I do not want to turn into a pile of bones in a coffin somewhere.

In fact, there is a Body Farm in San Marcos, which is only a few miles south of Austin. Hmm..

I was trying to get Rob to take me to that Body Worlds thingy with all the plastinized dead people, but they showed some of it on the news and I about lost it, I wouldn't be able to handle it. YUCK! No thank you.

Eww, that IS scary!! I wonder what it was.

That kind of reminds me of Return of the Living Dead when they catch that thing that's only the top-half, and it's slinging its spine around on the table going, "THE PAIN OF BEING DEAD..."

YUCK, I hate that thing. Do you know what I'm talking about? I think it was supposed to be a woman, but it was all green and its spine was just hanging and slapping against the table and it had eyeballs and stringy hair and it was all skeletal.

YUCK.

Damn I love that movie.

BUT WTF IS THAT SOUND?

I just fed Goj a fuzzie, and he's staring at me with the tail still hanging out of his mouth. LOL.

I got the shampoo at Randalls, but they carry them in Krogers, too. It's just Burt's Bees Volumizing Shampoo, but it's EXPENSIVE! It's $7.99 for the shampoo and $7.99 for the conditioner. Very expensive. The soap I got is high, too - $3.99 for the 100% natural and $4.99 for the 97.20% natural.

I know what you mean; I was being super cheap once and bought this disgusting Shampoo/Conditioner combo from Walgreen's (it was a Walgreen's product) and I swear to God it's like pouring LOTION in your hair. Your hair is like immediately nasty when it dries. It's SO GROSS. I just use it as soap now. I hate it.

Aww, poor little Goj! I was dead-set on taking him with me to Austin, tank and all, but Rob told me not to - he said that he'd be fine here.

We BOTH believed it, but I was super worried about him anyway because he's my little mean buddy. Rob and I certainly didn't anticipate the freaking MONTH WITHOUT ELECTRICITY. I figured I'd be gone a week or two, tops.

Yeah. :X

Hey, I found this new shampoo that is totally awesome. It's Burt's Bees shampoo and I LOVE IT because it is like 97.20% natural. When you use the shampoo, it's not slimy like other shampoos, and it's kind'a weird because it actually CLEANS your hair and doesn't leave it all slick and coated in some kind of slimy substance. I love it.

Rob said it made his hair fall out so he doesn't want to use it. LOL. It just gets rid of your dead hair! I love my shampoo. Oh, and the soap is like 99.72% natural, but we have another bar of soap that's 100% natural. MAN I LOVE IT. And it's not tested on critters, which is ALWAYS good.

I don't think they should test cosmetics on animals. In fact, I wish that they didn't have to do any kind of testing on any critters, but there's only so much that computer models can do AND there are WAY too many variables in human beings (you know, like insane criminals). That sucks, huh? I had mice that took years and YEARS of selective breeding just before they found one with the right immune system/heart condition/whatever to start their testing on. :( But if using a mouse (initially) to cure cancer, I am soooo all for it.

IT'S RAINING HERE and I just woke up.

Boy do I wish. If school were done I wouldn't be working for Target anymore. Well, that's the plan at least. I should be done after this year if things go as planned.

[[ PART TWO OF TWO ]]

Poor Goj. He didn't eat the whole time I was gone, and the day I came home he ate for me. :) I got him two more pinkies today and he wolfed them down, too. I'm trying to keep his food size small so that he can slowly work his way back up to where he was (mouse-size scale - he was eating the larger fuzzies).

He's staring at me right now, but he looks sleepy. I love him so much, even though he's a little buttface.

Oct 6 2008 9:12 PM

A few days before I came back to Baytown, Rob told me that Gojira hadn't eaten the ENTIRE TIME I WAS GONE.
I was gone for twenty two days.

I freaked out. :x When I got home, Rob said, "I think Goji is going to die." ...and part of ME died, because I love that little bastard.

Right before Ike hit, Rob put Goj in his outside house. The day I left (Sept. 11th), Rob moved him back inside to his 20gal, and then over to Ron and Pattie's house because our house was looking pretty unstable.

Poor Goj lived there in his 20gal for a day or two after Ike (while debris was being cleared away) and one of Pattie's cats, Jerry, was messing with him. Knocked the light into the tank and everything. >:O

When Rob put him back outside, the DOGS noticed him and Rob would catch Malachi sitting right beside Goj's house, barking non-stop.

Rob had him back in his 20gal at our house and kept trying to feed him.
He said that Goji let two mice just die, and he tried feeding him wet cat food because it's squishy and mooshy and easy for him to eat (not his staple diet - just a rare thing). Goj refused to eat.

The day I came home, I flipped out over him not eating and poked him and he hissed at me and bit me. So I figured that if he had enough strength to bite the way he did (he held on and TWISTED, little shit), he wasn't going to die immediately. :b

We went and bought the snakes some pinkies, and got Gojira one too. We figured if he didn't eat it, my snake could have dessert. Well, Rob was injecting a brisket with Deliciousness next door and I threw the pinkie in with Goj, and went out to my car for a second.

I came back up and the mouse was gone! Woohoo!!

I love that song.

Howdy, sorry to hear about Kirby. :(
How is life otherwise? It's been, as always, busy on my end. School just started up again last week so it's been a lot of book reading and homework assignments. Fun.

Lana

Oct 3 2008 3:16 PM

Yeah, it's the worst feeling in the world to have to decide on someone else's life. Especially somebody that you love. :(

Well, *I* think you did the right thing, and I'll tell you why. Kirby had a wonderful and extremely long life. Most dogs don't live past ten, and Kirby lived eighteen well-cared-for years.

You know how some older people get tired of their aches and pains and just want to die already? People think it's morbid because WHO WOULD WANT THAT? But that's because we aren't achy and full of pains that just will NOT go away, no matter what we do.

Kirby was like a little old man, and he still LOVED you with all of his heart, but he was probably also very tired and wanted to go. His not eating was probably because he felt bad, or maybe he was depressed. He ate again because he had a stimulant, but even if you had kept giving him the same shot every day, he'd start declining pretty quick because his body was just tired.

It'll be okay, Suz. You don't have any reason to feel guilty. You did a good thing. Kirby was just OLD, he wasn't mistreated by you at all. In fact, considering how long he lived, you treated him and cared for him exceptionally well and don't let ANYBODY tell you otherwise.

I love you Suza.

Oct 2 2008 9:03 PM

Oh Suz, I'm so sorry. :( When our dog Bear died, he was a part of our family, too. I had him since I was about four, and he would follow me to the bus stop sometimes. He died unexpectedly (his kidneys were failing and Mom opted to put him down), and I felt SO GUILTY because I had yelled at him about something the last time I saw him. I carried his picture around with me for months, and my mom got drunk once and locked herself in the bathroom and bawled about it about a year and a half after it had happened. We all felt like shit.

I'm sorry Suz. :( I know that Kirby was your little buddy. Terret was my little buddy, I had him half a decade (which doesn't seem that long at all) and it still killed a big part of me when he died. It's almost enough to make you NOT want another pet, just so you don't have to go through losing him or her. :(

I love you Suz.

Mystery is Rob's snake. Rob once said, "That snake could die, and you could flush him down the toilet, and bring the tank home and keep it set up the way it is, and I'd never know."

In other words, MYSTERY IS A MYSTERY. He never comes out. He is always hiding somewhere. Right now his favorite place is beneath his water bowl. He hates us. :b

But Sneaky is ALL OVER THE PLACE. He just zooms around all the time, and he's getting GIGANTICOR.

P.S. I love your website, it is SO CUTE. Where did you get that kitty cat picture? (Under the 'pictures' section).

I don't think it's fair either, on his part, but I could have at least done more to try to make him happy. I don't know, maybe we really are too different, maybe we were just meant to be friends. But I love him unconditionally and I will love him for the rest of my life, which is probably going to be filled with loneliness and blah. :C But if he just wants a friendship, I can't deny him that, he's done so much for me and he really is a wonderful person no matter what.

My dad is going to be coming here tomorrow to help me move Shanti and Sancho's cages...and I'm really going to miss snuggling up against Rob's back at night, so I'm trying to take advantage of that as much as I can right now. I just wish none of this had happened.

But I guess it's a good thing, even though it looks really shitty right now. I don't have to be anyone's girlfriend. I don't have to worry about anybody else but me. I can go to college in Austin and be a Vet Tech like I've wanted to be for years, I can make my own money and just ... relax and not have to worry about it, I guess.

But I still love him. I really, really do. I still consider him my soul-mate, he and I meshed really well together but I guess a relationship was just too much. But I think he will always be one of my best friends, like Andrew is. I love him so much, but if he wants to just be alone, he can have that...
