The Chilly Winds commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of The Kingston Trio's release of "Tom Dooley" by making our version of their classic our profile song.
About me: A trio performing folk music traditional and popular, especially celebrating the songs of the Kingston Trio, the Chad Mitchell Trio, the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, and other bands from the great Folk Revival of the 50's and 60's.

I recorded this music (maybe you will know it… ;) ) and was going to put it with some Trio pics of John when I heard of his death. I forgot about it when once again, I “took off” again the following week! I just purchased some video software here in El Paso today and wanted to do my first video with it, so I took this music and added some still pictures. As I have an old computer with me, the only pics I could find enough of to make a “theme” were the ones I took in Brazil over the last three trips. Hope you like it. BTW – If you want to use the music for a “Trio tribute” or anything else, just ask and I will send you an MP3. Paul My Time In Brazil!
Hey... (Let me know your schedule at some point). BTW - Last night I found this on the old computer.... Here is a wonderful "pen and ink" sketch that my grandmother did WAY back in 1906. She dipped an old pen in an inkwell, about a million times, and then made small lines on the page. Great stuff!

So, I sing this to honor her son, and the countless other families who have endured this unimaginable loss! Please stop by and view it when you have a chance. Good Heavens Jim, You must have been just listening to the few good bits. It's nearly 2 years old now and I'm hopin' we've improved!And we're workin' on some live DVD footage in a couple of weeks hopefully. Fingers crossed it will sound ok, then we'll be your major opposition on You Tube! Business is slow down here workwise, and unless I have a change of luck in the next few weeks, Fantasy Camp and Colorado are out of contention once again dammit. Was thinkin, while you've got the boys together, can you cut a Reverend Mr Black version and post me a CD in WAV with a separate vocal guide track? I'll have a go at the vocal and send it back to you. And then we'll be even more famous eh!
Thanks guys for being a friend on my private page also... :) I am quite certain there is not another "Shane" voice anywhere to be found, but you definitely have a "Guard" and "Reynolds" thing to your overall sound now. So much so, I did a double take! You are also VERY tight, and it is great to see what happens when three talented guys have a chance to play together for a while!!! I am in El Paso for the next six months on business. Are you playing anywhere close during this time???

You betcha young Jim. I'm quietly working towards this year. I'll know by June.It will be sad without the great man but just to get there and do that song in Mikey's entertainment suite and again at Manitou Springs will be fantastic. I guess all you Martin & Vega boys can play the thing backwards!!! I'm going ok strumming the banjo and just goin' from C to D. The words are imprinted in my boof head now. Love it every time I do it but it certainly will have a lot more meaning now. How cool will it be with all that mob joining in the chorus? Sure to bring a tear to the eye and a Guinness to the lips.
I am deeply saddened by this news...:( Like all of you, I learned my very first guitar chords listening to John and the various folk groups play. (I believe I was singing John's "Molly Dee" when this was taken, and it means even more now)!! God speed John... we will keep you in our hearts always!!!!

Re: talking to you thru Youtube, Sea shepherd has found the illegal whalers, and have chased them out of the antarctic. However, the whalers are holding 2 of our Sea Shepherd as crew on one of their ships. I am very concerned that the whalers are harming the hostages or even worse torturing them. If you check Captain Paul Watson's site on my myspace site you can find out full info on what's going on. I just wrote him and told him he should mount a rescue team using Galapagos Park rangers who we've been helping out since 2000. We can work the logistics out to get the crew to the ship.
