other people have said these kind things:
"Spada seems somehow reminiscent of some musician somewhere, but it's hard to figure out just whom that may be, though it's likely that it's no one musician in particular at all." - Performer Magazine (northeast performer)
"The keyboards are as inventive as...Kori Gardner's from Mates of State..." - south of mainstream
"...Morrissey...David Byrne..." - lazy-i.com
"...sounds a bit like newer Radiohead sans all of the electronics" - splendid ezine
"Sean once recorded a cover of a Leonard Cohen song that was better than the original." - Ryan Walsh, The Stairs

"Even more impressive however are Spada's beautifully penned lyrics. He manages to paint striking images of sorrow and loneliness through his lyrics, recalled through a rather relaxed and distant vocal delivery." -northeast performer
"If you're not sold on this record yet keep in mind three things 1) it's a 6 song EP, and every one of the songs has a very distinct, individual flavor. Parts are reminiscent of They Might be Giants, Belle and Sebastian and .4, "Mismatched Socks", begins like a cover of Ben Folds Five's "Underground"... -south of mainstream
i was a member of the stairs until their dissolution in august 2005 & play in my dearest screwtape with sarianna. the stairs have their second & final LP "on sleep lab" out now; i play all sorts of keyboards on a bunch of the tracks (including "einstein & his enemies" and "oh! sunday morning" on their profile.) the CD is available from their website. (some members of the stairs are now a new and different band, but you can learn about that from their website.)
there will be a new sean spada album in the forseeable future (early summer 2006). i'm feverntly recording at the moment with help from talented people like eric meyer (the stairs, ho-ag), devin johnson & lee perlmutter (essen west) & sarianna sabbarese. i don't know what it will be named yet, but i do know what the cover art will be. sarianna & i are putting together a band to play her songs live; right now it includes ilya malinsky (guitar), jason summerfield (bass), sarianna (vocals, accordian) and me (keyboards, vocals). i'm also writing music for two different films over the course of the next several months. meanwhile you can check out:
2) me playing rhodes on sarianna sabbarese's song "the difference" (our cover of "wicked little town" is also up there; i strongly recommend checking out her CD);
3) me playing piano on the song "damn tryin'" by the takeover UK(recorded by lee perlmutter.)
i'm a musician for hire as well; i can play in almost any style you can imagine, and am available as a keyboard player for performances and/or recordings (email me for more info).
