I am Sean Ongley. I am an improviser willing to collaborate with anyone. Currently, I am the driver of an improvisational vehicle called, Death Worth Living. I'm co-organizing a new arts festival in St. Johns called "No.Fest : Nu.Music.Arts St.Johns 2008" --> But I'm also a rebellious music student at PSU, studying symphonic percussion with much help from students and jazz piano under the great Darryl Grant, and on the side with the magnificent Doug Haning. I'm also a part of the Rainbow and the Kittens -- a band soon to declare itself a non-profit entity -- and plays every last Thursday on Alberta. I host a free improv night with Shane Schneider at Proper Eats, currently on last Wednesdays.
I have in the past been part of bands called Zecki Am Sun playing drums, History of the Future and Danava, which is where I first got my hands on the keyboard back in 2004-2005. Before that I wrote indie rock songs on guitar. But my first gigging band was Danava, ironically I was playing keys which I had never done before, and so I owe them and Glass Candy my world, for taking us on tour as unknowns. I also have a radio show called Un-Herd on KBOO from 2-5:30am every other Thursday night, which follows "Night of the Living Tongue," a live performance show I engineer and book along with the lovely maniacal surrealist-novelist, Jennifer Robin. I also try to make easy artistic money with modeling. I also live on a farm where I grow and make things. Conclude.
Yes, I know I really need to get out of PA, but I'm just trying to figure out exactly what to do & where to go... Portland definitely sounds like a great place. Your mom compared it to Tucson's 4th Avenue, which I loved. You like it there a lot?
Hi Sean, thanks for the request.:) Your mom was telling me about you. Really interesting music! I like it! Especially "Becoming"..it has a kind of eerie feeling. Peace & Blessings, Lirae(Lindsay)
MERCI Mr ONGLEY, good music dude, best regards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well said my friend.. Really, you have such a way with words that it takes them away from me......... However, to much surprise I do miss you and we have plenty of pot for you and I to indulge in........
Yeah! It went really well. We were really excited to get down to Arcata, San Francisco and Oakland, if not for the music then for the weather. :) I hope your winter is treating you well! xo
