Believe it or not I was a punker for a while and still listen to it sometimes.
I had my electronica stage and now listen mostly to alt-country (Jayhawks, Wilco), some folk (Ani DiFranco, Christine Lavin) and this and that. | | Movies | I'm a student of film. I decided last year I wanted to get a good background in knowledge about movies so I went through and watched - and read reviews of - the 100 most influential movies, as judged by the American Film Institute.
My favorite films include Donnie Darko, Spinal Tap, Pi and Decalogue | | Television | I don't watch much tv except for The Daily Show, which I review for BlogCritics and watch for laughs and inspiration.
Lately I have been watching dvds of well-written shows like CSI and West Wing, getting them via the library. | | Books | I really respect and admire Kurt Vonnegut and Tom Robbins but confess to not having read their last few books.
I read a lot of mysteries with my favorite authors being Donald Westlake, Lawrence Block and Robert Parker. | | Heroes | Same as the "Who I'd like to meet" - Vonnegut and Vowell are writers.
Feynman was a scientist with a great attitude toward life. There are several great books about him.
Morris Dees is a lawyer fighting discrimination and hate. |
