Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center's Interests
General
Sexual violence violates a person's trust and feeling of safety. It occurs any time a person is forced, coerced and/or manipulated into any unwanted sexual activity.
Sexual violence is a crime. It is motivated by a need to control, humiliate and harm. It is not motivated by sexual desire. Perpetrators use sex as a weapon to dominate others.

We do have to make exceptions to our confidentiality policy in the event that you tell us you are going to harm yourself or someone else, if you talk to us about suspected child abuse or if you tell us that you have committed a crime.
Remember that although it is convenient, the internet, email and myspace are not confidential mediums. While you may contact us through email or myspace, we cannot guarantee confidentiality like we can through our hotline or other services.

We cannot change what happened in our past, but we can start over in our lives and create for ourselves the life we always wanted to live. We will never forget where we came from and where we started out in life, but we do have a chance and an opportunity to turn our lives around and make the most out of it. It is what we do with those experiences and the lessons that we've learned along the way that counts. We can either stay stuck in the past, letting it consume us, or we can take those steps forward that lead us to a new destination and discover all the endless possibilities that are waiting for us. We must look beyond the horizons and believe in ourselves as we choose to leave the past behind. For those chapters have ended and now we can write new chapters for a new sequel in our lives that is even better. As survivors, our journey is not ending; it is just beginning.
Never let anything stop you from achieving your dreams in life. As long as you believe in yourself and what you are doing, then that is all that matters. There is no limit to what you can achieve when in your dreams you believe. You just have to have faith and take that step forward to go after what you want in life and it may not always be easy, but in the end, everything falls into place and all the hard work is worth it when you are able to look back and say that you accomplished what you set out to do.

The mission of Just Tell is to reach out to children who are being sexually abused to tell them that the abuse is NOT their fault, that they did nothing to cause it and that they need to choose a trustworthy adult and JUST TELL.
Would you please consider adding one of our Banners to your page to tell your friends about our work? You can find the text to the banners (below) on our page! Please let us know if you'd like to help us with this work. We especially welcome survivors!

Roberta Sage Hamilton In our deepest moments of struggle, frustration, fear, and confusion, we are being called upon to reach in and touch our hearts. Then, we will know what to do, what to say, how to be. What is right is always in our deepest heart of hearts. It is from the deepest part of our hearts that we are capable of reaching out and touching another human being. It is, after all, one heart touching another heart.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be articulated by the inaudible language of the heart. Peace and love. Lauren
