About me:
Hmm...about me...I am an UNSCHOOLER!! It's amazing. It's lead me down an amazing road where I've been an actress, a writer, a dancer, a singer, a fencer, a rock star, and a million other things that I could literally go on and on about. I'm very passionate about my education and the path I took and also the way the education system is currently in this country. I hope to someday influence a change in that...but more on that later. I'm a total geek, and I love geeking out about all my interests, but mostly music, (songwriting, playing music, being in a band, new music, old music, women in the music industry, etc. etc.) musical theatre, (Broadway, being in shows, different aspects of theatre like acting, playwriting, directing, anything in general!!!) movies, many different actors and actresses that I sort of idolize...list goes on. I'm just pretty geeky in general. Anyway, I mentioned I like to dance. I have been very interested in learning more about belly dance and ballroom dancing lately, so I'm taking a belly dance class right now, but I've taken years of jazz classes, and love busting a move randomly when I hear good music. I'm also in a band called "Adventures of Isabel", (Our myspace is in the top spot on my friends list!) I'm a drummer and singer, and songwriter, and I just got a bass guitar that I'm learning to play!! We rock! I also intern with the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, helping spread the message that girls rock, and give them the confidence to go out there and create music. Right now I'm also interning for a wonderful singer/songwriter who runs her own label and she's great and I'm learning a lot about the music industry, and I'm about to set out and see what else I can do, I'd love to work in a bakery, and travel, and other stuff before I go to college or whatever. Unschooling really got me to this point. :)
