About me: I'm starting my 20th year living in southwest Alaska in the village of Naknek on Bristol Bay - "Salmon capital of the world". My family and I live on the banks of the Naknek River where we can watch belugas swim by and eagles soar overhead. It's a great life. The downside is that I have to work to pay the bills. I am fortunate to be part of the excellent staff at Bristol Bay School where I teach kindergarten and oversee the computer network.

Many of these photos are of Dale Preston and his art. Dale was the illustrator for my books and was a good friend. He passed away a few years ago.

Sorry I haven't wrote back I'm in the middle of finals week with one more to go. YAY!!! Anyways, I wanted to thank you for the books I received them today and my kids just loved them they thought it was so cool that my 4th grade teacher wrote them. Chance was showing Parker your picture and telling him all about you as if he knew you himself...lol Chance is taking his book to school tomorrow to show his class and I thought it was a thoughtful aspect that he chose to do all on his own especially since he is in 4th grade right now how it brings back all the memories from when I was in 4th grade. For ex. remember the bathtub that we had in our classroom to use during reading time...lol how I remember that i don't know. But we had some good times in 4th grade sure wish I was there again...lol Anyways thanks so much for the books we were all so excited to receive them and they really mean a lot to us. I wish it was!!! This pic is some 15 years old. It was made on a night out with collegues, a medieval pirates party with lots of food and drinks. I still remember the hangover... Anyways it's great to have you all as my family outthere!!
mom, few problems with your slide show. 1. please don't tell the location of my hunting trips. it is totally uncalled for.
2. the lagoon picture should read someting like "family back west, before moving to AK" and not, "lagoon UT"
3. i was ice surfing on the newhalen river. not the lake. not a big deal, but it just doens't make sense.
4. hannah kind of has a pot belly in that one picture. think about using another picture of hannah, for her benefit.
other than that, i really like your slide show. you have used some real cool pictures, and the order they fall in is a nice setup. a few corrections and it will be a wonderful presentation. B+
