Russ Rankin was the vocalist for the seminal California punk band Good Riddance and is currently the vocalist for Only Crime.
He is currently working on a brand new collection of his own songs which will be released as a solo project sometime in the near future (stay tuned!). Rankin's songs will remain true to his musical roots to an extent but fans can expect some experimentation with orchestration and melodic structure. This project is open-ended. There are no limits.
Rankin is also a monthly columnist for AMP Magazine, a published poet and contributor to such magazines as Alternative Press and Razorcake.

History is not something that happens to people- it is the activity of people. Culture does not dictate human behavior- it is the sum of human behavior. Technological progress is not a force of nature either. There is no civilization without us civilizing, no capitalism without us capitalizing and capitulating.

What's goin' on Russ? My old band, and I do mean old played with GR in Houston circa 98'at Fitzgeralds, around fourth of July called Speakeasy. That was killer. Always a memory that will stick in my mind til' the day I die. Cheers Boss! Love everything you put out, from GR to OC and beyond. Take care Buddy.
Russ, I had this crazy dream I was in an old record store flipping through some dusty vinyls, and found a cover version you did of Tom Waits' "Ruby's Arms", there on the rack. It started playing in the store as soon as I picked it up. It was sped up a little, and had guitars of course, but man it sounded glorious. Great work on it!
