Runaway Dorothy hail from the foothills of North Carolina and play simple and honest songs.
Growing up in the South they absorbed the sounds of country music and the folk songs of their parents, and as they grew up they expanded their musical palate to include some of the great UK bands.
The result is a unique combination of American songwriting set to a backdrop of European textures. If you didn't know any better you'd swear you've known them all your life. Their songs and stories are your songs and stories. It's as if your best friend has put your life to music and is now singing it just for you.

I'm sooo glad that I found out about your band. "Takes a lot of Love" was used in the twilightseriestheories podcast for this past week and it just fit so well. I was sitting at my computer, with my headphones on, listening to the podcast. And as soon as the music started, I was already hooked. Then when the voice came in, all I could say was, "Oh my God!"

can't say I've ever bought a cd of a band after discovering them on myspace, but you guys are really great. Keep up the good work, and bring the touring show out to SoCal!
