DJ Rudy is known to most people as James Curran. He lives in Monmouth County New Jersey. He has over 1,400 cds which he is relentless in turning into over 1,500 cds. He often spends days without sleep scouring over various music publications keeping his library up to date with the latest hits that everyone loves (20, 778 songs at present).
Then again, he also spends days without food as well (he can afford to- he’s a little chunky) attempting to locate throughout various means at his disposal out of print and obscure James Brown and Frank Zappa tracks. He’s under the impression that someone somewhere wants to hear an out of print Stone Roses b – side, only available in Germany in 1989 (and after some of the crowds he’s played to , he may be right!) Thus, keeping his library out of date and up to date at the same time.
On occasion he ventures out into the daylight (or more often then not, moonlight) to play music for people. If you would like to hear him play at your venue or function, he does have a telephone you can call him on. Please email through myspace for contact number.

DJ Rudy
From making mix tapes when I was ten to spinning in front of thousands of people, music has been my life. The rush I get playing songs that people connect to- whether it’s dancing, laughing, crying or just happily singing along- is something I can’t explain. But that’s why I love to spin.
To say I love all kinds of music is an understatement. Miles Davis, The Beatles, Beethoven, Bob Marley, Minor Threat, The Hives are frequent visitors to my cd player. That variety translates to my style of spinning.
I truly know how to read a crowd. Whether it’s Top 40 and the current club hits, or garage rock and alternative, I feel it’s important to cater to the crowd. And this means I put myself in the crowd’s position. They want to have a good time and want to hear variety. That’s why I pride myself on playing the songs everyone loves, but to also play songs that maybe ten % of the crowd has heard of. To me, having someone walk out of your venue saying “I can’t believe he played that tonight!” tells me I did my job.
I would love to bring this magic to your venue or function.
