“This is a band that has their own staying power”- Dwight Hobbes (Pulse of the Twin Cities)
Room For Gray establishes the idea that there can be room for an “in-between” sound by fusing hooks found in pop music with punchy guitar riffs found in a rock setting. Drawing on influences from the likes of Bon Jovi, U2, and the Goo Goo Dolls, Room For Gray continues to implement a relentless work ethic and wow audiences across the Midwest with its live performances.
Consistently working the club circuit, Room For Gray has performed at several venues including the historical Bunkers, Fine Line, Elbo Room, and Rochester’s Mayo Civic Center. The band has been featured on NBC’s Kare 11 Morning News in Minneapolis as well as CBS’ WCCO channel 4 News, and has reached national audiences through featured segments on MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge. Most recently, through grass roots support, Room For Gray was nominated as a finalist in the Epic Records/Spin Magazine Hot Pursuit national record deal competition.
2008 looks to be a bright year for Room For Gray. After receiving critical acclaim for its EP release entitled, “Moving On,” last year, the band is currently gearing up to record a second LP (third release). “The overall theme of personal relationships is still present on the upcoming record. However, these songs focus mostly on hardships the band continues to endure together,” says lead singer James Gray. Room For Gray will continue to manage an aggressive tour schedule and has plans for an early fall release.
