WELCOME TO ROCK THE VOTE!!

Rock the Vote is a national non partisan organisation dedicated to building youth empowerment. We are all about helping young people to want to be part of their democracy - to stand up and be heard about issues that affect them... we encourage and motivate them to participate in society - they are after all - THE FUTURE LEADERS OF AUSTRALIA!

We do this through media and the entertainment industry. 2007 is going to be an exciting year of learning the importance of democracy, fairness, equality and speaking out about issues that affect all Australian's.

In a wild jumble of music, theatre, art and other entertainments, Australian youth will join together with musicians, artists, actors, sportspeople and the community to show we are passionate about this country – that we ARE going to be heard, not just on Election Day but into the future!

Rock the Vote is working hard to make sure young people don’t miss the boat at the next election.

We are getting an extraordinary number of people emailing us telling us they would like to be involved with Rock the Vote which is AWESOME!! We have set up a special section on the website to enable people to register their interest in becoming involved.
Please help us manage this properly and make sure you register there. Unfortunately we don't have the capacity to keep track of requests that come through myspace, so we will only be responding to people who go throught the proper channels.

SO - alot of us out there in the world talk about politics... I like this person because they're this, I don't like this person because they're that... this person is an idiot, that person is dishonest, this person is loyal, that person is passionate.
This person is overweight, that person forgets important names. This person doesn't care about refugees, that person frequents strip clubs :)
But do we really want to base our votes JUST on this type of information? I know I don't!!! I want to be a bit more informed about what the hell politics is all about. Take a look at some of the important issues that young people have told us matter to them and see which party most closely resembles your views - it's pretty simple!
