Sounds Like
A salad of fresh greens, pears, carmelized walnuts and gorganzola cheese with a light vinegarette.
The titles of the 2nd and 3rd tracks above are "The Battle Cry of Freedom" and "The Eccentrics' Hoedown."
I've been playing guitar for a little over 25 years. I specialize in instrumental acoustic guitar music -- sometimes totally traditional, like Irish music, and sometimes more contemporary. Since 1998 I've put out 4 CDs of acoustic guitar music -- public radio fodder, as I like to call it. I hate hype but I love to play guitar and to make fun of myself and most everybody else.
I recorded my most recent CD, "Venn Diagrams of Mercy, Venn Diagrams of Doom," using random cheap gear I had around the house, as sort of a self-challenge. The theme was either "It's what you do with it" or else "It amuses me and that's all that really matters."

I really enjoy your messages, Robert! Sorry I'm not more prompt about responding: I'm mostly on facebook these days and sometimes forget about myspace.
I'm reading, in no apparent order: The Brothers Karamazov Beloved, by Henri Nouwen The Road to Reality by Roger Penrose and Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
When I (if I ever) finish The Brothers K, I want to pick up something easier for a change. Maybe an old childhood favorite. Any suggestions?

If you don't mind me asking, is "Northern Hospitality" in Orkney tuning like Ithaca? I think it is, but I haven't played around enough to figure it out. I'm working on this new tune that's in a d-modal offshoot of Orkney, and I admit I've stolen some soul from that tune. :)
First of all, why is Tom the Myspace guy in your top 8? Second of all I think you should change the name to "eccentric's hoe". It lends a whole new feel to things. You could rename all your songs in a similar vein- Kiss Your Pimp Gladly, Kissing the Oblivious Streetwalker....
Robert, your music sounds great, you always were an incerdible guitarist.Glad to see it's going well for you.Hope too see you soon. Thanks for the add. Keith
That "Northern Hospitality" song is good. At first I was skeptical of it, because the beginning was so simple, but then it got pretty cool. It's neat when you can accomplish or express so much with few words or, in this case, notes.
I like the song a lot! It has that kind of discordant melody that reminds me of Silly Sisters and other female groups. I hadn't heard of The Story. Thanks for sending it!
Oooh, I just got your comment: For some reason myspace doesn't tell me anymore when I have comments. I would love to hear the song. jfkantrowitz@aol.com I'll try to find a pic. of my aunt to send you.
I like that poem a lot! You should set it to music. I'm going to be playing in public next month for the first time in years. I'm nervous, not about performing which I love, but because I'm not sure I like any of my songs anymore, and I haven't written any new ones in a while. I think I may do mostly covers...
Hey! No, not Tinkerbell- though sometimes I sure could use someone with a magic wand to get things done for me ;-) Thanks for hosting the open mic so wonderfully last Tues, and hope to see you at The Space again soon! cass
