Drugs are essentially poisons. When you take a little bit of a drug, it acts as a stimulant - it wakes you up. When you take more of that same drug, it acts as a sedative - it calms you down. When you take a lot of that drug in a short period of time, it can kill you.
You may have seen this with alcohol. Someone drinks a few beers, and he gets energized - he wants to talk a lot and get up and dance. When he's had six or ten beers, he "passes out", he gets really tired, or he can't stand up. If someone were to drink a whole quart of vodka in a short period of time, it would likely kill them.
Drugs, such as THC (the chemical in marijuna), cocaine and ecstacy, lodge in the fatty tissues of the body. They can stay there for years, constantly affecting the way you think and act.
Riders Against Drugs (RAD) was established during the 06/07 winter season in Southern California. Nikki Dale was sick of the general feeling that drugs are no big deal. He decided to do something about it.
RAD informs people on the truth about drugs so they can make informed decisions. We believe that "scare tactics" don't work, but spreading the facts actually does.
