My kids, European Medieval/Renaissance history, genealogy, running with the rescue squad, sewing historical clothing, running around in said historical clothing, languages, DIY home projects, yada yada... you get the picture!!!
Music
Lately I've gotten into European rock bands such as Lacuna Coil and Rammstein, but the old stand by's are great too. I've been known to listen to anything from metal to country to celtic and 'faire music' to reggae to classical... to.. to.. to...
Voodoo... voodoo.... voo-doo!

Movies
Give me a good period flick and I am in heaven. I'm all about the "garb porn" (you know.. the movies you only watch for one thing.. to get ideas on how to make that new historical outfit! Get your mind outta the gutter!)
Other than that, I'm up for pretty much anything.. Of course, most of the time, my cinema choices are dicatated by a certain "Cute, Blonde, and Close to the Ground" guy in my life...
Television
Anything on Discovery, History or anything dealing w/ blood & gore (much to the chagrin of my sweetie, who skeeves at the sight of "ick")
Books
Heroes
My kids for growing up so amazingly..
My mom for letting me survive to adulthood..
My Jamie for doing something I'd never have the courage to do and doing it so willingly and joyfully..
My friend Sharon who has never cracked despite the incredible pressure she is under on a daily basis..
My friend Kim for being there through thick and thin...
My cohorts at the Squad for giving so much of themselves that the suffering of others might be eased...

I'm a Mom, nurse, EMT, mouse and a pirate. Not necessarily always in that order and sometimes I multi-task!
The last couple of years have taught me a bunch about myself, and a bunch about the people around me. Guess I'm a bit sadder and wiser and much less trusting in what people around me say. Even those closest to you can lie and cheat you, no matter what they profess... But that is, as I said, a thing of the past. Being me, it is sometimes hard to let go a grudge or anger, but I'm learning that some people are just a******s and will never realize just how insignificant they are. I am steadily working on letting go of my anger, but have come to know that in some cases, it will always be strong and hot.
I've got awesome kids and am building an incredible life for myself and them. There are a few new additions to my world.. Nearly a year ago, Kieran came into my life.. She is now known by several names but mostly "Itty Bitty". Her picture is in my gallery. I'm also MOST INCREDIBLY happy to announce the arrival of not ONE but TWO new nieces!
Devan Marie arrived Sept 23rd (making me a great-great aunt) and Adisyn Nicole arrived October 1st (making me a great aunt)... They're both cute as little buttons and I can't wait to get up and see them!!!
In 2006, I joined the Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad in Spotsylvania, VA. I'm having a great time and honestly I feel like I've managed to make a small difference here and there. I'm a 'preceptor' now, which means I get to corrupt the 'new generation'... mwahahaha....
I am also into Historical Re-enactment of the Renaissance sort. I've been known to run around in 80+ degree weather wearing 40 pounds of velvet and satin. (And nope.. never ONCE dropped from the heat, thank you very much!)
The latest thing going on is that in November 2008, my Jamie and I will make it all official-like. Planning is in full swing and I'm hoping to keep my sanity through it all. My kids have been very supportive and I'm very happy that they seem to like Jim as much as I do (ok, maybe I like him a little bit more than they do, but you know what I mean...)
My pirate name is:
Bloody Charity Rackham
Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!
Who I'd like to meet: Hmm.. who would I like to meet? Not sure. Everyone has such unique qualities and characteristics... Just takes a discerning eye to spot them... So, no one person would fit this bill, no matter how well known or anything.. As long as they are fairly honest individuals and not out to manipulate or take advantage (I SO don't play that.)
So, I guess I wanna meet LOTS of people.
it's so stupid over there...you know...at the "I"...
just shoot me...
wait...no,
i need to see the end...
cuz I'm going to laugh my ass off...
muwahahahaha!!!!
A manager? No way, that's the first I heard of it. I'm not leaving honey, I've left. My last day at the big "I" was 03/12. I am much more at ease now but it sucks that we can't do our witty banter while being paid by the big "I"!
youre going back there?! ahhhh!!!!
a "touch" of insanity indeed.
I actually asked if i could stay longer after i said was leaving...eekkk!
gotta few more months...of hell...
