Sounds Like
a dusty road in rural Georgia, some Maker's Mark, and a lot of guitars and friends making music in hot, humid Summertime
RED DIRT DIARIES IS THE LATEST EP BY ... MOLLY BANCROFT.
The former leader of Atlanta's popular alt-rock band LIFT's 2nd solo effort harkens back to her earlier days as a solo singer/songwriter, only this time, she brings her skilled group of friends into a cozy studio in Athens, GA to make beautiful music that is timeless. After years of touring with groups like the Indigo Girls, and performing venues all over the USA, Molly strikes gold with this simple approach to solid songwriting and warm, inviting arrangements that build into passionate bliss...
Simone Simonton, drummer of South 70 and of course, former Lift drummer, brings her exquisite touch to these songs, as does Emily Boyd, who added lyrical gifts.
The songs on "Red Dirt Diaries" evoke emotions of detachment, questioning truths, love, and warmth. In the making of this CD - which provided an unexpected resting place away from the trancey beats of Gabriel and Dresden, and a step away from the fast-paced world of studios and projects she'd known- the songs felt so refreshing and real. This was music making old-school style . The story of this year of music making has become Molly's newest CD and second solo effort - Red Dirt Diaries.
Red Dirt Diaries is a perfect title for this warm inviting and inspiring music made outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, and out where the frogs are talking loudly and an occasional hay truck drives by. Not only does each song feature Molly's signature stunning and candid vocals, but also the less-is-more instrumentation to let each song shine in it's own little moment.

Just checking to see how you've been? It looks like things are great for you. Congrats on your success you definitely deserve it!
The Break is still one of my favorite songs that I've ever heard. SOOOOOOOO beautiful it literally still makes me cry after all the times I've played it.
Thanks for the add Molly,
This little collection is a wondeful contrast to the Gabriel and Dresden CD, all very fine tracks.
Like the guitar sound especially.
hey guys! thanks for the add!! thanks for easing me back into the week beautifully with your tunes, here's hoping our musical paths cross soon. please let me know if you're ever LA bound...b
Got it today. This is a great album Molly. Amazing songs and production. I like that you can't put it into any one category, there's a little bit of a lot of styles. (to self...OK how do I say this without saying It's a little bit Country, it's a little bit Rock n' Roll..boy that would be a truly bad comparison...). We need to get more than 107 people out here listening to this. People of MySpace take a break from Gnarls Barkley, tuck away the Keane (but you can come back to it) if you have Paris Hilton's songs (well if that's the case they wouldn't be here would they now) just....oh I'll just stop.
This is real music, great stories, great production. It should be in Paste and Mojo and Under The Radar and on "Grey's Anatomy" and in ITunes. Go..get off of MySpace now and listen to Molly. You'll thank me later!
hola!
just wanted you to know that fallen angel is my summer song!!! hehe

hope you have a beautiful weekend, Molly and i'll be checking back to see when those hard copies are ready .. :)
