Sounds Like
A Blues, Swing, New Orleans Jazz, Ragtime, Klezmer, Mexican waltz mutant.
While their name might seem to refer to a certain segment of the political spectrum, it turns out this group’s members aren’t necessarily communists. The simple truth is that two of the band’s members are red-headed and left-handed, the odds of which have yet to be calculated.
RedLefty mixes up blues, swing, country swing, ragtime and even a bit o' klezmer. Their set list ranges from dirty blues-harp boogies to swingin’ horn pieces to western swing guitar solos, that results in a unique melding of vintage American styles and genres designed to set toes a-tapping and get bodies to swinging on the dance floor.
Influenced mostly by older blues, swing and New Orleans jazz, they call their music "swingin’ blues", which is the short way of saying roots- folk- dixieland- bluegrass- country- klezmer- ragtime- hoedown- swing- blues music.
Going to see RedLefty will take the listener back to a bygone era, one in which band members actually dress up to take the stage and songs are not so much a rigid construction of written notes as they are a loose arrangement of parts vamped until everyone on stage has fully expressed themselves. RedLefty will give you the full experience of old-school swing or blues in a way that is simply hard to find these days.
RedLefty likes vintage music and vintage whiskey...and sometimes a nice merlot, but ALWAYS a good, dirty martini--and a lot of times just a good ol' PBR--but always water. hydration is essential.
oooh you boys kill us here at stage 7. Thanks for the kind and funny words and also playing the stage again. See you next year Sneaky Pete ....rowrrrr!

The t-shirts look great! We should work out a cross-promotion where we wear each other's stuff at gigs. I can just see it now - Prairie Acre suits for you guys, Red Lefty cowboy boots for us! :)
The Jackpot Red Lefty Christmas Extravaganza was AWESOME, I'll be a part of that anytime!
Sorry if I drowned you all out. the banjo is a loud instrument and I am used to comments like "I can't hear myself over that thing" and "Could you stuff a sock in it, Cleatus?"
