After a playing in a short lived band here in NYC Todd and Sarah decided to start their own band together. Before beginning their search for a drummer Todd went to Burlington, VT for some R&R.
While there Todd happen to run into Colin Cleary (Colin Cleary & the Magogs / The Smittens). He told Todd of a drummer friend of his who had most recently moved to Brooklyn. (Tom used to play in The Magic is Gone with Colin.) Once back in Brooklyn Todd got in touch with Tom and they met up at the Pencil Factory in Greenpoint. After many a Brooklyn Lager and odd Burlington story they decided to play some songs with Sarah and see how it would work out.
Work out it did.
With Sarah's background in classical, Todd's background in metal and Tom's background in..who knows what..the three create fast and melodious music delivering to-the-point lyrics with a catchy hook. The heavy bass and drums are balanced out by the clear vocals and straight ahead guitar. The end result is an aggressive pop punk sound.
By the way - the accent isn't fake - Sarah is English.
good work sarah, holiday cocktails in the slope soon. . . til then, check out the new book. . .
Being both funny and heartfelt, Hero Sandwich is a terrific book that shows a new side to a survivor and hero from 9/11.
Hero Sandwich, a True Story by John Cerqueira

John’s writing does not separate man from hero. On the contrary, Hero Sandwich offers the reader insight into the life of a young man struggling to find his place in a world full of drastic and unexpected changes, and sometimes struggling to simply get out of his own way. -me
