RC Dub keeps you dancing while they keep hand-delivering the crucial irie musical message to all planetary audiences.
If you're lucky enough to walk past the legendary Zoo Bar in Lincoln, Nebraska on a given weekend, the music’ll set you on your heels. One thing for sure is positive--if it's RC Dub on the stage, you'll step inside… back in time… forward in time… and away from time...
Built in 2003 around a core formed by Emily Madison (aka Gold-I-Locks, Goldie) and Calen Olivetti (C'Mo), RC Dub is presently a six piece group based in Lincoln, Nebraska. Being named a Top Independent Band by Independent Artist Registry in 2006* served to iconify their street appeal, while encouraging them on their indomitable focus: original and complex, or stunningly simple, music that gets everyone's attention, young and old, dubbers, rockers and all the freedom-loving people on the good green Earth.
Intent on the unique feel and social conscience of their music and the venerable tradition of reggae, RC Dub weaves dub, ska, rocksteady, and jazz to create their own Special Blend Dub Reggae. Their music, to paraphrase Desmond Decker, "Goes on for extra days." Renowned for their stamina, RC Dub keeps playing after the lights come up, bringing to the table an extensive repertoire of island classics including many Treasure Isle and Studio One tracks, jazz standards and a wide variety of other influences.
Supported by a diehard regional following, RC Dub released its debut album, Inna State of Dubmission, in 2005. With a review in Beat Magazine, constant online exposure, and international radio play, RC Dub continues to excite listeners worldwide. RC Dub has taken stage as an opening act for such legends as The Wailers, Calton Coffee (of Inner Circle), The Big Wu, and HR of Bad Brains. They can be heard on the soundtrack of the gangster documentary, "Shooting Henry Hill", released in July 2006. Plans are in the works for new album releases.
RC Dub's performers hail from varying backgrounds, and combine their strengths in jazz, rock, reggae, and classical European and American music to create RC Dub's powerful style and sound. Through their work they endeavor to make a tribute to the indigenous musics and peoples whose art even now surpasses nearly all commercial music and stands alone, by its own right, like RC Dub itself.
Strengthened by line-up changes, and constant work on new material, RC Dub's mission to bring reggae consciousness to the masses continues to grow in ever-positive and motivated directions.
RC Dub is:
Emily (a.k.a. Gold-I-Locks, Goldie) on Bass,
Calen (a.k.a. C'mo) on Trumpet,
Loren Rye on Trombone,
Brian Middendorf on Keyboard,
Dave Hansen on Guitar, and
Kyle Swartz on Drums.

Emily, I received the PraIRIE Vibrations T Shirt! Thank you so much for the CD and the great letter. I originally downloaded the CD from iTunes, but it is always nice to have a real copy. If you make it east this summer you all have a place to crash in Reading, PA. Wish I could have made it to the festival.
