| | Influences | In order Chuck Berry for the first real Blue Bends that were recorded to the main stream public
Jimmy Hendrix for stretching the sound
Jimmy Page for playing what was meant to be
Angus Young for Blues/Rock at its finest
Eddie Van Halen for Major Scales and tapping out Eruption. Eddie does stand out as a very strong influence and I respect him as a legend. Eddie if you ever read this I hope you will do Intrumental or Solo projects now. You are very much missed
Randy Rhodes for Classical/ Lead Metal like never heard before his time by my generation. Randy Rhodes will never be forgotten for the very little he did. His playing spand less then a decade to the public eye and as freeting as it was his mark was made and changed everyone.
Jake E Lee for taking on a huge job and delivering
George Lynch This man is all about acrobatics on the fret board. I appreciate his ability for being in the right place at the right time and taking advantage of it. His style is so distinct and incredibly technical. George forced me to look for phrasing
Steve Vai and I must say something more here. It is an inspiration more then just influence here. The listed above are and were great players. Steve is an influence who has managed to stand the test of time and talent beyond the rest listed above him. I look up to Mr. Steve Vai for the ability to Progress with recognition. Most players strive to make it and then once they do, talent is a down hill slide. Steve Vai has not stopped progressing and that is my influence as with the rest of the players out there.
I would like to thank MySpace for giving me the venue to show one fans appreciation by dedicating my music to them for influencing me. Eddie, George, Steve, and Randy...RIP RR
Okay and of course
My friend and sometimes teacher, Shane Gibson. Shane toured for KoRn and Jonathan Davis and the SFA. With his influence he has helped me to push the envelope and reach new levels.
There are so many others; Dimebag, Paul Gilbert, Kirk Hammet, Joe Satriani, and the list can go on for a while. As far as the rest, I watch and learn as much as possible with the progression of music. Meaning as music evolves I hope to follow and might stick a note out front without being known once in a while ;)
Thats it and thanks for reading this!

| About Randy Starnes |
This is my "Official" MySpace Music Page. Doesn't that sound over board? Some question the need for the page, but it would have been irresponsible for me to not have a MySpace page for my guitar demos.
The Demo's were recorded onto my desktop computer while living on Santa Monica BLVD. Nothing but a few tracks and improvisation.
While in Hollywood, CA I got some great style pointers from Shane Gibson and worked for the CARVIN Corp. on Sunset BLVD. Meeting Rock Stars and people who thought they were Rock Stars was awesome. Jarad and Mark over at CARVIN were great to work with and good to be around. I learned a lot about sound from Mark over at CARVIN. CARVIN (the company) did suck to work for. Shane Gibson showed me some crazy techniques and basically helped me evolve into what I think of as the next generation of lead players. Funny thing about playing lead guitar is it takes a good band to make it all work. Hollywood as a whole is one of the best places I have ever lived. It is a state of mind and a lifestyle that sticks with you the rest of your life.
Albuquerque, NM is the new Hollywood. I live in Albuquerque for the time being because it has clean air and movie stars.
More Personal stuff was going to go here too. I should have written book. I think we all have a story or two to tell. I am certainly reminded of my past no matter how good or bad it was.
Thanks for reading this and being my MySpace Friend. I hope you like my guitar demos. If you know of new tricks, sounds, or music theory please pass it on.

Contrary to popular belief, I was far from successful. I had established some very good contacts in the music industry and made many friends on here. I think the best part about this spot in my life is that I am capable of doing anything I have ever wanted to do. God had a plan that I could not refuse.
I have this urge to tour third world countries and war zones to spread the music and charity. I am looking for the right opportunity to feed the hungry, treat the sick, and talk peaceful solutions to those in need and with a voice. I want to Rock the stages of Baghdad, and Schools of North Korea. I want to bring resources to those in need in all parts of the world. I believe music is the one universal language that can contain the ultimate power of suggestion. As humans we need to get a grip on our species- so now my goals are bringing me full circle. The music was a learning tool for me. I enjoy the challenging riffs, licks, and general theory behind it all.
The music is one thing, but fulfilling the basic needs of our human race so that we may move beyond the arguments and onto other worlds and technologies, is so important. The time is near for us to pay the piper for our actions. The time is now to make some serious choices. My date with destiny awaits and yours might follow very soon.
Good Luck!
and
Hope you see me!
