Sounds Like
A mix of all the above.
We were once described as a "brave experimental jazz-rock act". I'm not sure if it was meant as a compliment, but we're having it as one.
We don't really set out to try and sound like anyone in particular. If we do it's either coincidence or subconscious. We just make songs and they sound like they sound.
We are ProVirus - an indie/punk/rock/alternative band based in Littleport, Cambridgeshire UK. The original members of the band, Andy and Gareth, started jamming together in 2003. Gareth had played drums for years, although not in bands, while Andy had some gigging experience with previous bands Puk and Lemonade Nation, in Glasgow. They tried out several other musicians before Daniel joined the band in 2004 on guitar. The band soon had some decent songs and performed their first gig in November 2004. In early 2005 they recorded their first demo CD, Stepping Stone, with three of their original tracks on it. Around this time they also added Owen on saxophone and keyboards, which brought a new dimension to their music. They played a couple of gigs in Littleport in early 2005 as a four-piece before Danny took over on vocals. Danny was the singer for six months, during which time he played a few gigs and featured on the second demo CD, Not Coming Home, which had four new original tracks. However Danny decided he didn't want to be a singer any more, so left the band. Andy went back onto vocals for the rest of the year and into 2006. A live Karaoke event for the Littleport Lions in April 2006 led to Ian joining the band as the vocalist. We now have a new sound and are looking forward to gigging with Ian.

Just trying to say hi to everyone on the friends list... (it's taking a while) and inviting you to come and take part in the making of the new album via our new daily blog... We're just getting started, but there's already a lot of stuff floating around and we'd like to hear from all of you. So excuse this impersonal opening salvo and come and say hello - either again or for the first time.

We just wanted to say a quick thank you for your continued support throughout 2006!
We are looking forward to some interesting things happening this year and hope to see you soon!
Yep. Lovin' the new recordings dude. Also - digging the SAX-BUSTERS logo! Keep on rockin' in the free world (unless you happen to travel up the M6 toll road - that part of the 'free' world is gonna cost you).
You dudes rock like a huge monstrous rock rocking backwards and forwards on a rocking horse... now that's a lot of rock! But you still can't have my autograph.
