You wouldnt think a painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat, NJ ,Texas and Hip-Hop have anything to do with each other but in the eyes of St. Joe Louis all of these things make perfect sense. The name pulled from the painting St. Joe Louis Surrounded By Snakes.
After spitting with The Roots, Mos Def, Crayz Walz and Vast Aire plus Elete the groups producer also being the 2007 End of the Weak United States Champion, paying dues is an understatement for St. Joe Louis by now. After parting ways with their first label, a car accident and losing loved ones delays and setbacks have become second nature for this New Jersey group.
However this group comprised of Elete Left Field and Tom Chase are poised for a better 2008 after signing with Introspect Records, a Philly-based independent label providing distribution and promotion for St Joe Louis' debut album "The Late Arrival".
In a time where people feel hip hop is dead and there is nothing worth buying from hiphop "The Late Arrival" could never seem more on time.
