Each has performed with other groups and in other genres of music.

Primal Instinct recorded a marvelous debut album in 1998, Heart of the Rainforest, released under the Earthtone Records label. The music was inspired by a visit through some of the beautiful tropical rainforests in Peru. The mystic album showcases relaxing tracks like "Medicine Man," "Morning Drum," "Sacred Chants," and "Song for the Ruins." Each tune offers a total escape from the rush of the surrounding world, accomplished with instruments like soft, resounding woodblock drums, rhythmic bongos, comforting piccolo and pan flutes, and several other traditional Indian instruments, along with some not-so-traditional ones. ~ Charlotte Dillon
