VISIT OUR RECORD STORE IN BERLIN!
We have opened a "real" record store in Berlin-Friedrichshain recently which is located at Mainzer Strasse 8, 10247 Berlin
Opening Times are: Mo-Fr 13-20, Sa 12-16
Nearest public transport is U5 Samariterstrasse!
Found this on Youtube showing the raid on Mainzer Strasse which was a squatted street in 1990. At about 5.20 min into the clip you can see the door of Mainzer Strasse 8 being busted down and the cops eventually entering through the door as well as the window next to it which is where our shop is....
NEW RELEASE OUT NOW
Vile Enginez:
Cycadelic / Tool
(Sub/Version 013)
After several months on white label Vile Enginez' new release on Sub/Version is out this week – a mind trip through devilish labyrinths of a myriad of sound constructions. Vile Enginez, hailing for Basel, CH, has produced his most innovative and complex record yet – and look for his next Zhark Intl. release sometime in the future. Taking up the Sub/version project of twisting drum n bass and smashing up whatever has become standard for the genre, Vile Enginez bizarre creation clearly demonstrates his masterful production and technical skills. “Cycadelic” might be best described as creating the feeling of a black magic trip spurned on by female power gone mad – this is a track that will push everyone on the dance floor to extremes. “Tool” works perfectly with the dynamic of “Cycadelic” making a forceful totality of this 12” (played at 33 rpm). Hard-hitting beats, crazed ambiences, distorted full powered bass and rhythmic complexities abound!

"Over the last few decades Detroit has established a reputation for producing some of the most unique, enduring and intelligent electronic music on the planet. Void Tactical Media's provocative first offering takes any pre-conceived notions one may have regarding MotorCity techno and spins them around at 33.3rpm. Split Horizon and Jstat have each combined elements of noise, electro and broken beats to generate music that is a radical departure from the Detroit legacy, but couldn't have come from anywhere else. The four tracks on the record have been honed and refined during countless live performances over the last year, and are served up in final mixes that are versatile enough to be reworked by capable DJs - yet strong enough to stand on their own.
