Prairie Sun Recording is a professional facility for tracking, mixing, and mastering located in scenic Sonoma County,
California. Tucked away in a rural setting, yet convenient to the greater SF Bay Area, Prairie Sun provides an environment
conducive to intense creative work, including on-site lodging available to artists
currently in-session. Our three studios
are equipped with an extensive collection of vintage and state-of-the-art equipment: an SSL console in studio A and vintage Neve consoles
in studios B and C, 2-inch 24-track tape machines and Pro-Tools systems in all 3 studios, an engineers dream mic locker, and a
selection of the classic essential outboard gear.
Our tracking rooms are of a similar high caliber. They include a 1,000 square foot
live chamber and a unique small live
chamber that was the site for the tracking of
two Grammy-winning Tom Waits albums. You can learn more about us at our website,
