"Far more engaging are lo-fi, boy on guitar, girl on drums duo from Wakefield, Pop Fosters. Unassuming at first, coming onto the stage with little fanfare, their short, punchy garage numbers quickly become hard to ignore. Playing more material in a single set than most bands manage in three, Pop Fosters absolutely blast through their songs, infusing their performance with a healthy interplay, ramshackle charm and exactly the right kind of nervous energy. Whilst their fuzzy, garage rock sound owes an obvious debt to the White Stripes, Pop Fosters manage to evoke Jack and Meg without ever crossing the line into rip-offery. Their music even seems more exploratory in some ways, demonstrating a range of influences - who'd have thought a garage band would choose to cover Pavement? - whilst venturing into punky, Pixies-esque, and, at times, grungy territory. The energy and enthusiasm from the pair is striking. Pop Fosters transcend their numbers to create a compelling, attention-grabbing sound. Closing their set with a cracking cover of The Sonics' 'Psycho' they prove themselves to be a band to watch out for."

Pop Fosters - Self Health..."A healthy slice of punk here. Fast, furious and fun. It does what it needs to, comes in, kicks butt and goes away again." - Scubadog, Yorkshire Music Collective
