Sounds Like
The ringing of cash registers (in a parallel universe where bands like this are popular)
Polara has been making its own brand of experimental pop noise over the course of five albums, three singles, two EP's, and five record labels. Combining hooks and sonic mayhem in ways both futuristic and classicist, the band is releasing its long-awaited fifth album Beekeeping on Minneapolis' Susstones label. Most importantly, the band's core members Ed Ackerson, Jennifer Jurgens, and Peter Anderson are still creating new sounds on their own terms and having a blast doing it.
Said it on my blog -- "Beekeeping" is astonishing stuff, just about filled-to-bursting with the kind of slam-bang hit singles nobody's making anymore. There's an alternate universe where the radio is singing with the sound of "Both Ends Burning" and "Game Over." Masterful work, kids.
Whats up ED? I was thinking bout flowers and microphones today. Thinking bout how the greenhouse must be gettin all nice and warm. Hope you're well, James
hey ed! How've things been going? Wanted to thank you for allowing me to film all those days. Very much appreciate it. I'm actually heading out with the guys today to film for the day for a new update. It should be fun. Did you happen to see the last update?
