Like its name, the band's music is about opposites enmeshing...the organic with the synthetic, the delicate with the abrasive, the dreamy and ruminative with the hard-hitting and confrontational. At times dark and brooding, at times tender and blissful, always searching, ever restless, the songs wander a terrain populated by love, politics, and contemporary society, as lyrics push to the brink of poetry without spilling over.

Do you have plans Friday? Our 7/4 party @ the Red and the Black made weekly picks by the Washington Post’s Going out Guru’s and Dcist! If you’re in town, we hope you’ll come by and if you’re not, we hope you’ll help spread the word to your friends who will be here :) It’s a Name Your Cover show – as in pay what you want to get in the door and that cash is going to some great non-prof organizations. The night kicks off with a cover song contest and then we’re opening up the dance floor with some great DJs. $3 rail drinks all night. Hope to see you there - we'll still be going long after the fireworks cool off!
