"Singer-songwriter Pippa Williams is a breath of fresh air and a rare talent whose music will have listeners from all walks of life stopped in their tracks.
Originally from Devon, Pippa grew up listening to the beautiful folk singing of her mother and from an early age, she came to appreciate traditional music - “There’s something magical about knowing you’re singing a song which has been passed down through the generations.” Learning to play the piano and guitar allowed Pippa to channel that inspiration into writing her own songs, which have had a great response at gigs nationwide.
Pippa is an incredibly talented song writer, whose work ranges from the haunting, heartfelt and truly beautiful ‘Black Hawk’ to the intriguing ‘A thousand More’ which will have the listener contemplating every word. Pippa’s raw writing talent was recognised in 2006 when she was awarded a First Class Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Bath Spa, and sets her apart from her contempories.
The future is bright for Pippa with regular gigs in prestigious venues, up-coming live sessions and interviews on BBC radio and a much anticipated debut album on the way. Both Pippa’s own songs and her interpretation of traditional songs make for a warm concoction of an unforgettably emotive, agile and clear voice, harmonies to send shivers down your spine and lyrics that call out your emotions. Accompanied by Pippa’s mature guitar and piano playing, it’s a pleasure not to be missed…"
Wow, i don't think i can say much more, yes i can, you have a fantastic voice, I've worked with many mucians and singers but none have given me the reaction i got from you voice, the hairs stud up on the back of my neck, i would love to work with you, get intouch, and again, WOW!
Thank you very much, really glad you like it! It's just my voice multi-tracked several times =)
I'm actually playing quite a few gigs in St. Ives over September! It's with a band called "Gally's Folly" (in my top friends), so it'll largely be their music as I'm largely just playing violin for them. Buuuut we're incorporating a bit of my material into the set, and I'll have a few albums for sale =) I'll put the dates up when I've got them confirmed.
I'm putting together something scaled to the needs of Laia & Sue. Style? Anything they want, but it must be quality and of interest to an audience. I've set them the task of learning their first song by The Indigo Girls. (Loaded on the "Cheaper than a Parrot" myspace at http://www. myspace. com/cheaperthanaparrot) After that, we will take it in turns choosing songs. I'll offer advice about what gets gigs, and we'll take it from there. So in short, I suppose we will be playing Acoustic/Electric Folk, Folk/Rock, Folk/Country and Pop! I was looking to work with Jenny, but I made a change in direction at the last minute and chose to carry on looking. I answered Laia's ad after getting together with Sue. I was hoping to get out to see you sing, and of course I hope you & Laia can get some songs together. You will always be welcome to join "Cheaper than a Parrot" when an opportunity arrises. I liked your vocals. Looking forward to meeting you. Paul x
I really liked Tina Dico.Thought she was great so thanks for the recommendation! Maybe we could arrange something for you by the end Of August maybe for the gig in Bodmin? I have a house now and move down on the 25th of July. yey! xx
