Since the beginning, Pillar of Autumn has taken pride in the amount of energy associated with their live show. As individuals who grew up inspired by Detroit’s rock roots, the band has strived for a performance as mind blowing and entertaining as many of Detroit’s musical legends. Their high energy, combined with catchy rock vocals and metal guitar hooks, has kept them amongst the top of the growing local music scene. The band consists of Rob Lesniak (Vocals), Ed Gawlik (Guitar, Keyboard, Vocals), Spencer Mabey (Guitar, Vocals), Chris Masters (Bass Guitar) and Frankie Concord (Drums). A heavy cult following on DetroitCity.com as well as MySpace.com is proof of Pillar of Autumn’s marketability. The band first gained local attention with their track “Asthma”, which made its debut on DetroitCity.com. They quickly became 1 on the DetroitCity.com music charts within two days of the song’s release. The single was recorded at Tempermill Studios in Ferndale, MI, with producer Tony Hamera. In 2007, the band decided to push the envelope by inviting Detroit Hip Hop mogul Mike Matkin to become their manager. The partnership has helped form many strong ties between the two musical communities. Matkin is well known for his ability to create a powerhouse staff and to help amplify the artists to their highest potential. Pillar of Autumn is currently finishing their debut 6-song EP at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, MI, with producer Chuck Alkazian (The Dave Mathews Band, Elton John, Uncle Kracker, Sponge). ![]() ![]()
