Hey there everybody, I'm happy to announce The Patti Spadaro Band is up and running and playing shows around Pittsburgh. We serve up a mix of feel good bluesy jam-rock. The band is new, but features pro musicians all around. Female drummer Janelle played with Mikey Hart of the Grateful Dead, as well as a bunch of others. The band's playing local clubs, including P.D.’s Pub, The Thunderbird, Moondogs, Scoobys, and Cefalos, and is scheduled for some festivals this summer. We're also having fun sharing the stage with some other great Pittsburgh performers, including Tom Breiding, theCAUSE, Jill Simmons, and One Gig at a Time.
Patti Spadaro is a creative, passionate guitar player/singer/songwriter whose bluesy soulful guitar leads cry, sing and wail. Patti's solo CD "Short Stay" combines catchy songs with thoughtful lyrics; infectious, syncopated grooves and plenty of ripping guitar solos and improvisation. Patti & Stefana Dadas share the vocals on the CD, and Patti wrote all the songs. "Smiles spread, filling the spaces between a thousand strangers faces" is a line from the CD's title track. Patti believes that music can bring people together, open minds, even make a difference in the world. It's also a whole lot of fun.
The band likes to open up the music and create a space where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. "I love to improvise with a band", says Patti, "there is nothing like creating live and on the spot. Just letting loose and giving yourself to the music. The energy starts flowing, its a great way to really experience the here and now. Its so awesome when the crowd gets into it and dances. The excitement builds, people are having a good time together. Its so cool."
WestSide Life Magazine says "Spadaro...creates a dancing, twirling, good vibe atmosphere. Patti's guitar solo's are reminiscent of Eric Clapton and Carlos Santana". Relix Magazine calls Patti's playing "Shimmering".
Before moving to Pittsburgh, PA, Patti spent several years in the LA area as a full time musician, performing and recording with several bands and teaching music. She recorded two CDs with the Zookeepers, and toured all over the western US with them. The Zookeeper's CDs received a good amount of regional and national airplay. They performed on several local TV shows and were named one of L.A.'s top 5 bands by Fox-TV. Patti also recorded and performed with Sherby and Roger Len Smith, as well as several other bands. She performed as the opening act for Little Feat, The Young Dubliners, Eddie Van Halen, and many others. Patti studied music and graduated from Musician's Institute in Hollywood, and also teaches and does session work.

We had a great time at PD's pub. You and the band sounded phenomenal - We love coming to watch you tear it up...and you didn't let us down. Here's to making it to more of your show in the future.
Patti you are awesome! You have such a creative sound that makes us want to get up and move! I have to ask, you like the PRS better than a good ol' strat? Doesn't matter when you play so beautifully!!! Love Ya!
Thanks for posting our first comment! I'm new to the world of MySpace but you can't beat the ability to post audio for free. Looking forward to hearing your new band soon. Bill
