Even though modesty is not in his vocabulary, others lack superlatives to describe him. In the press he is being called "The World's best Jumper", "Jump-Guru", "Jump-King of Holland", "Top-Jumper", etc. Fact is that 20 year old Patrick Mantizz from the southern Dutch town of Valkenswaard gained immense popularity in no time with his hobby: Internet videos on You Tube and Google Video. His Jump-Tutorials teached a whole generation how to Jump, his Jump style is commonly accepted as the standard and with his large following Patrick Jumpen is seen as one of the co-creators of reality responsible for the explosive growth Jump has experienced in little over six months.
With his debut single "Holiday", Patrick managed to reach the Dutch singles charts top 10 without any outside marketing and support by radio or TV . When the single was debuted on Dutch radio, it was already high and dry in the top 5: purely on its own strength, exposed only through the Internet. As undisputed authority when it comes to Jump-Tutorials, a DVD was the obvious next step: " Jumpen Doe Je Zo!" ("Jump: How-To!") sold over 50.000 copies in the Netherlands within the first three weeks, reaching a gold status. Now also available in French ("Jump, ca se fait comme ca!") it sold over 100.000 copies altogether. Patrick Jumpen's second single, "The Secret" reached a 13 position in the singles charts!
In the summer of 2006, Patrick was a Jump fanatic, with a passionate hobby: video, film & photography. He took his Jumps to the street: with his DIY sound system made out of car-tuning parts in his backpack and his video cam he taped his Jumps at unlikely places: Patrick Jumping at the McDonald's, Patrick Jumping inside the Police station, Patrick Jumping on the highway, Patrick Jumping at Media Mart. It's how he got his nickname: Patrick Jumpen. In his backyard he recorded Jump-Tutorials: how else to become a master other than by tutoring. One of his hometown buddies, 18 y/o Jump fanatic Dion, joined Patrick and together they became the inseparable Jump-duo that took Europe by storm.
Early 2007, Patrick Jumpen was discovered by producer Jeroen Flamman, of Fierce Ruling Diva, Technohead's "I Wanna Be A Hippy", the 1 hits of the Party Animals and of course Flamman & Abraxas. Flamman invited Patrick to join the producers-duo in the studio to start creating his own music, use his talents to perform a smashing live-show and to share his knowledge with others through organized workshops, clinics & demonstrations. Soon Patrick received the recognition he deserved and the name Patrick Jumpen became for once and for all unmistakably tied to the history of Jump. His acrobatic style served as an example to many and his music became the perfect soundtrack.
Patrick Jumpen's live show became a huge success. Patrick & Dion share a chemistry that really falls into place when they climb the stage and show off their unique talents. The crew contains the undisputed top of the World's - Jumpscene -. Often Patrick combines his show with a workshop or a Jump-clinic. He's being booked for a wide range of event types. Whether it's an internal Microsoft seminar, jump-contests on colleges & universities, the inauguration of a national sports-hero or football team, recruitment day at the Royal Dutch Navy, morning exercise for 8000 rockers on Lowlands, the Mayor of Antwerp's yearly People's Ball or even the Queensday Festival for 200.000 people: Patrick Jumpen gets every-one's feet off the floor!
Through his website patrickjumpstyle.com, now also largely available in English, French and German, Patrick daily serves thousands of visitors who come mostly from outside the Netherlands. Besides the latest news, all his video- and music productions can be found on his site and those who register and log in can find like minded Jump-fanatics on the Forums and in the Chat - making it not only a fan site but truly serving a community.
