About Patch

After winning several Karaoke contests I got a little big headed and decided to write some lyrics. I got in touch with a friend called Pete Hammond who runs his own studio and we put a CD together. I have no band then or now or anyone to help me with music so rely on Peter to do all this for me at a cost. My first CD which is called Blair’s Ukulele was based on Tony Blair being on holiday whilst the country was outraged over Iraq. Although it is not based on my own political opinion it was written through the complaints I was listening to from my customers (I am a cab driver). This was in 2005 and since then I have made several more CD’s and sold over 800 to my customers because it is the only outlet I have. So until someone makes me a contract offer I’ll carry on like this. My latest CD called "The Lost Drink" is based on the frustration we all feel at being left behind when everyone around us is enjoying themselves. I actually wrote this 24 years ago when suffering depression. It was then based on the frustration of being locked into my own brain and no-one being able to unlock that depression and release me. I found out a few years later that the only person that could do this was myself and I did it through writing poetry and frustrating things and turning the situations into comedy and when I read it back it made sense and helped me to sort myself out.
