Lupus Facts and Information
1.5 million Americans suffer from a disease that has had no new treatment approved by the FDA in over 40 years.
Thousands of Americans die from this disease every year.
This disease is Lupus.
Toxic, out dated treatments are not a cure!
It is one of the country’s most prevalent, unpredictable and potentially fatal diseases.
The autoimmune disease that affects over two million Americans, 90% of whom are women, is very difficult to diagnose and there is no cure.
Lupus is a leading cause of stroke, kidney and premature cardiovascular disease in young women. There has been a sharp increase in deaths from lupus that is concerning government health officials. Each day I sit and cherish the little things in life. I remember the people who have touched my life in a positive way. Someone who was there for me, someone who made me laugh, someone who made me feel special, someone who went through rough times with me. I remember and am so thankful for each person that touched my life. Although sometimes, I did not tell that person, I was so thankful to them and then they were gone. I moved away and lost touch with some of my dearest friends and family members. Many times, I want to see them or hear their voices and share a laugh with those people who touched my life and gave me memories to treasure. Time goes on and tomorrow turns into a month and another year. I still miss those who have touched my life so much!
So if you are one of the people who have touched my life and I have not told you so, know that you are always in my heart and on my mind each day. We are not more than a happy thought away from each other.
You are my family, my friends, my co-workers, my clients, my doctors, my nurses, my neighbors, my acquaintances.
