Influences
floating down rivers, back-of-van make out seshes, knitting while hopped up on vicodin, watching lightning storms, livingroom dance parties, albuterol, shooting guns from tops of waterfalls, old timey standards, sleepingbags, weather, things one sees or says while intoxicated, the central valley, birds and birdsongs, old loves, new loves, the smell of lakewater, the way swimming pools look at nite, the good things, pikul kratz.

i tend to rip off my friends a good deal. those friends include my fellow shipmates in ye olde ship collective (earlimart, irving, let's go sailing, pine marten, sea wolf, silversun pickups) and also some of the bands i've played with such as fuck, daniel johnston, grandaddy, the shins, little wings, and microphones. i don't think we've ever played with the radar bros but i think they're pretty much the best. also, i sometimes play gtr in preston school of industry and spiral's been a pretty huge influence (as well as a so-so boss) and i liked his old band pavement a whole lot. someone once said we sounded like pavement on valium or something like that and i thought that was pretty sweet. you know who else i like? grizzly bear. and animal collective. and sunset rubdown. and lily allen. and girl talk. and black fiction. and baby boy da prince. and sparklehorse. and and and and. the absolute swooniest? sleeping states - best record of '07.
you pick the one weekend of the year when i'm outta town to play in seattle...guess i'll have to make a trip to portland sometime other than for work. cheers!
