Ofer is a professional Saxophone/Woodwind player and Jazz Composer. He spent 6 years in the US where he performed, wrote and studied music. Some works of his, in the jazz idiom, were performed by the BMI New York Musician Union Jazz Orchestra, in the City University of New York 2002 Jazz Festival, and in New York Jazz clubs such as Cleopatra’s Needle, Kavehaz, CBGB and Izzy bar.
Ofer studied orchestration and arrangement with Michael Mossman and the late Sir Roland Hanna, and saxophone and improvisation with Antonio Hart, and has played with distinguished artists such as Herb Pomeroy, Lalo Schifrin, Eddie Palmieri, Rick Dellaratta and many others.
In Israel Ofer plays regularly in jazz clubs and with many different groups and bands. He has also been featured on national television and radio. Ofer is currently on faculty at the Hed College for Contemporary Music.
