ookoi's a dutch duo whose work is foremost a play with time and space, and thus with identity: between here and there, between then and when ...
 In 2005 ookoi released their "Muziektafel/Tafelmuziek (2004)" CD ... At the time they were still known as 0 OK, 0:1 ...The CD contains a series of 'songs' that were conceived as a transformation of a collection of recordings of ookoi's live performances, in casu recordings made while in residence on the dutch island of ameland, in may 2004.  The 1024 dvd, released in 2007, is both a sequel to and a deepening of ookoi's Muziektafel CD.
1024 is ookoi's kibibyte ... It is based upon a collection of one thousand and twenty four sound bites all of which have been carefully extracted, again from recordings of ookoi's live performances and interventions, here roughly between the summers of 2004 and 2006. Without beginning and without end, the sounds continuously re-assemble into β-poptunes, recognizable enough (because of the unity of material) to even at times find yourself whistling along to them ... but never once the same ... Every presentation is a premiere ...
