Some may sit back and wonder how a band as exceptional as One Life Lost could come out of the small little town of Columbus, Ohio... well, it is a wonder to us too...it all began back a few years ago with a girl and a dream. lead vocalist shell had a vision to start a "band." armed with nothing but a guitar shell began her search...she quickly found a few talented souls including current keyboard player and all around stud muffin, simeon clark. stylistically the two had to learn to work with each other, shell approaching from an almost folky acoustic guitar standpoint, and simeon gleaning inspiration from the likes of bands such as dream theatre who are known for their crazy instrumental pieces and backbreaking solos. somewhere in this the two began to craft a style all their own ...
even though the band now had the beginnings of a smashing lineup, they were still quite drummerless, but their prayers would soon be
answered in the form of a young man by the name of michael snyder .. after taking a break from the whole band "thing" mike felt it was time again to seek out a group of like-minded people to create beautiful music with .. Mike realized as he met with the band for the first time at starbucks that he had met shell a year previously when she had played at the coffee shop where he worked .. mike and the band immediately fell in love and he has been with the band since early september of 2005...over the next two years the band would begin to further hone their style
the most recent addition has come in the form of AJ Maynard. AJ and Mike had already been friends for quite some time and when it came time to seek out a new guitar player AJ was one of the first names mentioned...he was at the time, however, working doing sound production in New York City...after months of prayer everyone really felt that this was the right fit and so aj moved back home and a new band member was born.
and the rest they say, is history....

I'm really glad I drove down from Cleveburg to see you guys. Your music is intense! Shell, you pace around like a worried mom before the show, and then you're like an uncaged animal onstage! How do you do that? I loved every bit if it. The other bands were great too. So much talent, so small a club. Thanks for some great music!
It's funny because at my school we just got done watching part of the Invisible Children movie and I knew it looked familiar and I finally relized it's because you guys have it on here. We're making t-shirts and selling them to raise money to build a school there. I thought that was pretty cool. :D
I loooove your music sooo much. You need to come to Massillon sometime. :)
Tony and I miss you so much and hope everything is going well. We need to get back in touch with another - we have always loved God's gifts in you and One Life Lost sounds better than ever.
cousin brian told me you guys played together in delaware. dang i missed it! i am glad you two bands met up(goodnight wednesday). i've been braggin on you.
i was looking at tickets for a dream theater concert today.
and it reminded me of you guys. at this event, we got to talk with you guys and i remember simeon talking about how he likes dream theater. and i'm wearing you shirt today too.
Your band is awesome and inspirational even for an older guy like me. You all look good together, play very well and have a unique and very marketable sound. It's nice to see artists such as yourself using God's wondrous gifts in such a positive and uplifting way. Your success will be tenfold over more commercial acts, because your success will not be measured in dollars, but how many lives you've touched and changed for the better. That's the kind of success you want to be remembered for. -Dave
