Old House Records was founded in East Texas in the summer of 2006. Old House does not have a permanent location other than the World Wide Web. Built upon a DIY attitude, Old House believes that if you want something to happen you have to work for it. OHR has set forth with an unwavering determination to make a lasting impression upon the current music scene with hopes of being a part of the future. Old House is committed to the artist above all else. We encourage creativity above marketability, and strive to offer support financially as well as artistically. In this age of "throw away" everything, Old House hopes to build its reputation upon an honest word and lasting relationships. Old House Records sets itself apart from the majority by not focusing on a particular genre. Instead, OHR hopes to attract those in search of music that is both unique and of a certain quality.
That is great to hear!!! We are doing really well also. The Buxton cd is doing good, we are soon releasing the new Hollywood Black e.p. and an e.p. from Framework. We are also about to release our first VINYL!!! It will be a split 7" with Wood and Felt on one side and Convair on the other. We're excited about the new Southern Sea record. They rule!!! Can't wait to hear it.

Not everything you create will be a masterpiece, but you get out there and you TRY and sometimes it really happens. The other times you’re just stretching your soul.” …Dr. Maya Angelou

I'll have many, many more up tonight and tomorrow. I'll have CDs in the mail as soon as I'm happy with the pics and I'm sure I have everything I can get out of what I shot. Thanks!
Howdy. We'd be sending you a message, but alas...sending a comment is much easier.
You Rock.
Now, for the real reason we sent this! We were wondering if you wouldn't mind taking about 30 seconds of your day to vote for our band. We're in this online thing where bands are getting votes in order to play The Austin City Limits Festival, and we really need your CLICK! So if you feel like clicking....http://acl.mp3.com/feature/soundandjury/?band=THE-SOUTHERN-SEA
You can vote once a day, but even if we could just get everyone of our friends to vote one time, we'd be doing great.
Thanks!
Love, the southern sea
Feel free to message us back and let us know how you're doing.
later!
...I might as well tell you about a couple of other things since I'm on a roll here.
1. The Southern Sea has contributed 3 tracks to a CD that our label old house records is releasing at the end of August. One of the songs is brand new and will be on our new cd that's in the works.
2. We're playing two shows in the next few months. August 31 in Tyler, TX and October 5 in Dallas in a new club where Gypsy tearoom used to be.
3. Check out the other artists on Old House Records. They're putting out some cool stuff, and there's more releases in the works.
