| Ohms Law STL: General Info
|
| Member Since | 7/1/2007 | | Band Website | ohmslawstl.com | | Band Members | Jim (Satch) Lowery- Guitar
A St. Louis native, Satch has been playing lead guitar for 35 years and is rarely caught without a guitar in his hands. He has toured extensively in the Midwest and opened for many national acts. He gets his inspiration from; Rory Gallagher, Johnny Winter, SRV, Gary Moore, Frank Marino and Robin Trower.
-------------------------------------------
Dave Burton-Bass and Vocals
Dave began his music training in formal and classical music. He soon grew restless and picked up the guitar. It was a few years before his passion for the bass was discovered and has been in his hands ever since.
Dave is originally from Evansville, Indiana and moved to St. Louis 4 years ago.
His previous bands were Dogstar (3 years), Crystal Sounds (15 years) Blues Tones (1 year) as well as toured through Nashville and the deep south with Indie acts such as Bobby Cage and Sue Kennedy. After moving to St. Louis, Dave bumped around in a couple of bar bands but always seemed drawn back to the blues.
He has opened for name acts such as Crystal Gale, Barb Mandrel, Rickie Scaggs, Ronnie Montrose, Emerson Drive,Gary Nichols and Kentucky Headhunters.
Dave has many influences including: the Stones, Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Delbert McLinton, Humble Pie, Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd, The Who, Hank Williams Sr. and Norah Jones.
His favorite memories are too private to share here.------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ric Elder-Lead Vocalist
Ric discovered his passion for singing at the tender age of ten, singing Gospel songs. The music bug bit him hard. He joined his first
rock band at the age of 15. This adventure led him to other genres such as Soul, Blues, Metal and Alternative. A guy who loves to sing as much as Ric has to go beyond his “favorite” (Rock).
During his journey, he had the pleasure of singing with Jimmy Van Zandt at Doc & Eddy’s in Columbia, which has been the highlight of his musical career. He has also been on stage with Ricochet and opened for Hurricane.
His previous bands are Faceless Society; SunStone; Axis; Two Gun Justice; Cradle & Grave. He can be heard now, belting out the Blues with OHM’s Law!
His biggest musical inspirations have come from Jim Morrison and Otis Redding. When it comes to choosing favorite artist, The Doors, Metalica and of course, Otis.
Ric is originally from Columbia, MO but moved to “The Lou” in 2003.----------------------------------------------
Brian Whiskey- Percussion................................................................................................He cut his teeth in Jacksonville FL, Biloxi MS and San Diego CA, playing blues, rock, country, punk, classic rock and gospel.
After moving to St Louis in 2005, he started to teach and write books for new drummers. His local music career includes playing at the most popular bars such a Cicero’s and The Red sea, as well as the Halloween show at the Lemp Mansion in 07, opening for Impala Deluxe featuring Dave Glover. He has also crossed swords with the infamous ex-lead guitarist from “The Schwag” .
BW play’s on a Roland TD-12, and a DW 4pc custom with all Zildjian Armand cymbals for that old skool sound.

| About Ohms Law STL |
|
Ohm's Law is a St. Louis based blues band that was formed on July 2007.
This elite project was put together with the mission of personalizing their music. They are fronted by powerhouse singer Ric Elder. Brian Whiskey sits on the percussion throne for the group as the rhythm section of Ohm's Law. Dave Burton harnesses thunder with his bass abilities and Jim (Satch) Lowery leads the way with his multi-style blues leads. This band is throwing off the holds of traditional music in a way that is as captivating as it is unique. They use no pre-recorded loops. Their music is raw, naked and live as the Blues should be. No two shows are alike. The many influences these musicians have in their pasts is evident in the final product. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear this group of seasoned musicians.
