About me:
THE HALL OF WARRIORS AND OFFICER DOWN MEMORIAL EFFORT
The Palomar Police Academy's Hall of Warriors was created in late 2004 by Officer Damian Jackson of the Escondido Police Department - The Senior Recruit Training Officer at the Academy.
What began as a training topic in a class discussion, quickly led to the beginning of a tradition that will live on until the walls of the Academy are no more. The first inductee and memorialized officer; Officer Isaac Espinoza of the San Francisco Police Department, Badge Number 64, paved the way for what has become a living legacy of duty, honor, valor and brotherhood embodied by these California Peace Officers killed in the line of duty.
On April 10th, 2004, Officer Isaac Espinoza was working a plain-clothes patrol assignment in the gang infested area of San Francisco known as the Bayview. While patrolling a neighborhood, Officer Espinoza observed a subject on the sidewalk who he knew to be a documented gang member, from a rival area. Officer Espinoza also observed that the subject was walking in a manner that led him to believe that he was carrying a firearm and attempting to conceal it under his jacket.
Believing the subject was armed and expecting a confrontation, Officer Espinoza exited his patrol car and attempted to stop the subject. The subject instantly spun around, brandishing an AK-47 assault rifle and began firing at Officer Espinoza, striking him several times. Officer Isaac Espinoza, an eight (8) year veteran of the San Francisco Police Department, succombed to his injuries and died at the scene. Officer Espinoza left behind his wife and 3 year-old daughter. His killer was convicted of murder and is currently serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The following year through various efforts of community service and the first of five (and counting) Officer Down Memorial Motorcycle Rallies, Class 12 of the Palomar Police Academy raised enough funds to bring the Espinoza family to the class' graduation ceremony where they presented Isaac's daughter with a check for $12,000.00 for her college fund. This was where our first Fallen Officer Memorial Award, the academy's highest honor, was presented by the Espinoza family to a graduating officer. Since it's inception, we have raised close to $100,000.00 for the children of police officers killed in the line of duty.
Since then, we have memorialized and inducted a new officer/deputy with each academy class and together we are doing our part in taking care of one other. The Law Enforcement profession is an extended family and we stand for and around our own. When a peace officer dies in the line of duty, a part of our society dies. The very foundation of what makes this country the greatest on earth is weakened when an officer is murdered. The Palomar Police Academy Fallen Officer Memorial effort stretches across all cities and counties of this state and exists for the sole purpose of providing for the children of these heroes and showing them that we honor their loss.

Who I'd like to meet:
SAINT MICHAEL'S BOYS
Not long ago, the struggle between Good and Evil erupted, again, into war.
The Devil threw his forces against the very Gates of Heaven, themselves.
His attack beaten back, and his forces decimated he withdrew and called for a meeting with God.
And Satan began.....
Who were those men who stood their ground,
When they were just some thousand few?
And when Gabriel's Army is clad in gold,
Who were those warriors all clad in blue?
"They were out-numbered one thousand-to-one
And should have run like new-born foals,
But when they showed no fear I knew
That you'd sent out men who have no souls,
"And there, at last, I have you,
Through all your boasts you've lied,
So no more claims of righteousness
And behind your Commandments hide,
"You've cheated and you've robbed me,
Those men, they are my proof,
The soul-less can't be yours in Heaven,
But mine in Hell, beneath my roof."
God listened, then replied....
"My poor, misguided child
The countless errors of your ways,
Those warriors stood against you, now,
As they did in mortal days,
"I knew they wouldn't turn and run,
For they've faced your worst before,
And that is why I placed them there,
To keep safe and guard my door."
"As for those battered coats of blue,
They wear with such fierce pride
That if I ordered them to change,
Even then I’d be defied,
"Yet, you believe they have no souls,
When their souls are why they're here,
For in life each took an oath they kept
With a price so steep and dear,
"When even in the face of death
Their honor did cowardice decline,
Their hearts, they never could be yours,
Blessed children, they are mine,
"And it's strange that you don't know them,
Since you've sent me every one,
Each time your murderers and thieves
Killed a policeman's father's son,
"With tear-stained eyes I greet them all,
Cut far too soon from their families' joys,
So send your worthless soldiers of Hell...
And they'll meet Saint Michael's Boys."
