BIOGRAPHY
ODi's story began when she uploaded some home recordings to My Space. People here, there and everywhere began to listen to her songs, loved what they heard and asked when her next gig was.
Inspired by this and armed with a beautiful, raw, voice, a cheap guitar, won on ebay, and her heart on her sleeve, ODi headed down to her local venue to blag her first gig. Her story has grown from there ….
…Two years on, ODi was invited to support Seth Lakeman at the Beverley Folk Festival. Along the way, the hard working Wexford woman has played over 200 gigs across the UK, Ireland and Germany. Released 2 well received singles "Crawl" and "What You Deserve" whilst developing an ever growing fanbase. She’s also managed to trade in the cheap guitar for a better one!
Her captivating voice and well crafted songs have already been likened to those of Suzanne Vega and Natalie Merchant. The musical landscapes on her recordings hinting towards a female version of Damien Rice, with a touch of PJ Harvey thrown in for good measure.
October sees ODi bring her new EP “A Superman” to the UK. The 5 Tracker features production input from Ken McHugh aka Autamata, (Juno Falls, David Kitt) and Karl Odlum (Fionn Regan , The Frames, Gemma Hayes)
Released in Ireland during summer 2008 The title track received national and regional airplay across the Emerald isle including a feature as ‘download of the day’ on The Tony Fenton’s Today FM show. The EP also brought praise from Irish publications including Hot Press and the Galway Advertiser amongst others.
ODi comes off the back of a 30 date Irish tour and heads to the UK for dates in September to promote the release of “A Superman”
She then enters the studio in late 2008 to record her debut album, due for release in summer 2009.

PRESS QUOTES
ODi is a singer/songwriter who manages to blend elements of Joan Armatrading's pathos, Beth Orton's eye for the quirky and deep with a touch of Dido's bedsit romance." www.musicreveiw.com
“Ireland has no shortage of singer-songwriters….to be blunt there are too many of them. Precious few are the calibre of Damien Dempsey and David Kitt. Yet here and there, from among the masses of hopefuls, dreamers and chancers emerge a few young songwriters with real potential, a willingness to think differently, and who show promise for the future. ...One such individual is ODi.” Kernan Andrews The Galway Advertiser
“ODi has a winning voice, ‘A Superman’ allows her silky vocal to twist around a beguiling melody” Jackie Hayden HOT PRESS
"What you Deserve has a sweet charming sound, think a female Damian Rice only with more sultry vocals and upbeat drums and a moving harmony of vocals. The soundtrack to your Sunday morning or the song to forget someone and move on. Quite beautiful." www.myspace.com/goodblades
"Hauntingly beautiful, this modern Galadrial mesmerises and captivates not only the ears of those who listen, but also the mind, tugs at the heart and soul of everyone. Songs that are as beautiful and elfish, as her smile. Adventures in Plastacineland Podcast
"If hard work and talent were all it took to carve a slot in the music world, then Odi would be filling stadiums" FATEA

Sunday Funday is the not-for-profit inaugural post-clubbing chill-out monthly sunday evening event mixing live acts, DJs, dance, spoken word and circus in a student-friendly Bradford arty city centre venue. Translocating the summer festival vibe into the Love Apple Café Bar (near the Alhambra Theatre - see the map on our MySpace), action packed with all the fun of the fair, Sunday Funday is a great excuse to ditch the crap sunday night telly, and party with no stress. Open-minded, multi-cultural, multi-genre, you'll hear just about anything at our gigs. Whether it's funk, punk, reggae, hip hop, house, techno, dub, breaks, meaningful accoustic sets, or bitesized chunks of world music, we're down with all chilled-out vibes.
To reduce our carbon footprint, we showcase local acts as possible, giving maximum exposure to the stars of tomorrow, in conjunction with Fresh Milk (the Wild West Yorkshire music facilitators), we're helping new artists gain grass roots exposure. On the Sunday October the 5th bill, there's Freyed Knot headlining, plus Divine Shakras, Harris, DJ Shi'me, DJ Immi, Flloyd de Sousa, Meats, and many, many more. This time there's breakdance crew the Soul Monkeys, and future performances will include belly dance and burlesque, and live performance art. Entry is always a mere £3, with beer/lager/real ale at £2 a pint, and fresh veggie and meat hot dogs to keep thirst and hunger under check. There's no dress code, fancy dress optional but welcome.
We're not funded or sponsored in any way, and rely on the kindness and generosity of our able volunteers, so if you want Sunday Funday to suceed, show your support by turning up at the Love Apple carnival between 5 and 11pm and having one hell of a good time. Turn up, tune in, and chill!!!
ODi has been played on the It's A Frog's Life Acoustic Podcast Show 64 - News from nowhere. This show features an interview and three tracks from Leon Rosselson, one of the UK's finest radical songwriters. Leon's contribution is complimented by some more great acoustic music from artists across the United Kingdom.
Thanks for listening and for your comments. If you get the change then please log on to iTunes and leave a 5 star review. If you do I'll give you a special mention. If you leave a review and you're an acoustic musician from the UK I'll play two of your songs on a future show. How's that for an incentive?
