Founded in 1994. Originally a spoken word/field recording project using multiple tape recorders and crude open air no-fi multi-tracking. By 1996 a group formed out of the rural ghetto of Phoebus VA. no one knew anything about playing music. using whatever we could find...one string guitar, 2 string bass, pots and pans, junk, whatever. we tried to write songs but would end up too wasted to get anything done so we would just improvise, recording everything onto hand held cassette decks or shitty 4-tracks deckss. over the years we got a little better (maybe) and more musically inclined people joined but we always kept true to our shitty roots. Disbanded in 2004 when we lost our home, the Rat-Ward. Some left over releases available...write if you are interested.
