Helene's Interests
General
Music, Illustration, 70s European Sequential Art...AKA:Comix, knitting...some of my stuff is hiding over at http://www.myspace.com/helenenoise (yeah, I goofed up when I started this page). Check it, etc., blah blah blah...Guitar, Ukulele, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator talk and blogs and all the other junk related to leading and kerning. ;-D
Music
PopPopPop--hard noisy pop that is. Hawaiian. 80s pop/punk/new wave (Lene Lovich, Thomas Dolby, Police, Ramones, Pretenders (of course), Dave Edmunds, Bjork, Television, etc.). The hoary chestnuts: Stones/Beatles. Fun pop(yeah I like that Disney robo-music machine junk sometimes [it's poppy! it's well, uh, "engineered"!]), and Pink continues to be an obsession-due to her amazing, honest voice. Basically, I like anything with a melody and some OOMPH to it.
Movies
Casablanca, Wizard of Oz, Run Lola Run, Spirited Away, Les Triplettes de Belleville, Classic Disney animation, Beetlejuice, All About Eve, The Shining.
Television
Yankees Games & UCONN Lady Huskies. Jon Stewart. What Not To Wear (not that you can tell by the way I dress...ha ha)
Books
Brave New World Brave New World Brave New World(due for another read), The Cider House Rules, St. Joan, Sophie's Choice, LOTR, All the Harry Potter...and thanks to Rachel--the Discworld series, which I've barely made a dent in! Nonfiction: a bit of a political junkie, Jon Krakauer.
Heroes
My hubby--the most honest, decent, straighforward man I know.
Who I'd like to meet: Should rename this section 'Who I'd like to have a drink with" HAr dee har har...in no particular order: Jean Giraud (Moebius), Lene Lovich, some dead people--namely, Winsor McCay, Janis Joplin (I'll pass on the Southern Comfort), Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Edith Piaf, a drink with Django. Modern, living noisemakers: Keith Richards, Joey Santiago (Pixies), Pink (yeah--I admit it).
Helene! So nice to meet you a few weeks ago! Thank you so much for coming out on a Tuesday night! All the best to you and your musical projects! Take care!
Fuck a Pink Squirrel...it's all about a Slow Comfortable Screw...Ask Jenny, she'll tell ya. It was a memorable evening. (That just doesn't sound right does it?)

Too true! Even true of this, a cover of a more-bitter-than-sweet Prince b-side; gotta love MM's spin on it. Sweet and semi-sad despite the happy little uke ditty.
