Nick Harrison is a young singer-songwriter whose poetic lyrics are personal and contemplative and whose music ranges from sensitive ballads to hard-driving rock. But one thing for sure, he delivers powerful and authentic American music at its best.
Nick has written songs that run the range of human emotions. He writes of love lost and found, of solitude, of joy and sorrow in relationships, of loneliness and happiness in personal experiences.
As a performer, Nick can be tender in singing a ballad of the wonder of young love (You Don’t Have to…) and then come right back with a raw rootsy song of a relationship gone bad by addiction and bad choices (‘Round Again). And in between is a gamut of sounds and tempos that reflect his versatility—from soulfulness to R&B (as in Rhythm and Blues and Rockin’ Bluegrass)
Nick’s guitar playing is organic acoustic. He can make his instrument almost whisper a tender song and then play a driving, rocking Johnny Cash tribute. His musicianship, his raw vocals and his contemporary lyrics make him a complete package.
Nick will say he has been influenced by many performers from the different eras of rock. They include singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Johnny Cash, James Taylor, bands like The Beatles, The Band and contemporaries like Ray LaMontagne, and Ben Harper. And as Nick would tell you, too many more to name.
