Also, this is how Sleepwhendeadnyc describes us:
¡THE ESKALATORS!
“The high school marching band gone horribly, horribly wrong, but in the trendy, actual marching band music sort of way. A shifting cast of 10+ band members making pop-ska nuggets of ernest and hilarious lyical genius. Shit, I love these guys a lot, and they’ve barely started. Their an awesome band, so go find out despite my fanboy mumbling.” - SleepDead
it's all true, except for the trendy part. What does that mean?
hehe well thanks! yes, about your show tomorrow, Marc and Eric invited us but we can't bc we are going to see Pete Seeger (didn't realize it started that early) so please tell them thank you for inviting us, and we'd love to play music another time!
YAY! The Time Slot for my radio show just changed to be late Saturday/Early Sunday 3-6AM. So this Saturday is my last chance to see a Saturday night show! What an awesome way to go out!
That spot in Central Park is kinda secluded, but not that hard to find, fortunately. It's called Wagner's Cove, and it's near the West 72nd Street entrance, off the path from Strawberry Fields. You have to go down some stoney steps to reach it. I think the gazebo can be seen from different spots in the west side of the park, so that definitely helps in making Wagner's Cove stand out.
5 old school fools would love to see some heads in brooklyn.
15 years in the basement. classic studio duo ala hall n' oates & dark throne brought to life for the first time w/ ass tearing full band. feat. members of satanicide and shat.
I came to the show but it went later than i could stay and i did not see eskalators play :( :( next time. that saxomophone + drums band was cool anyway
I loved your set last Sunday. I think you are my new favorite band! As much as I enjoy listening to the songs posted on your page (and as much as I'm into lo-fi recordings and the D.I.Y thing in general), they still don't do you enough justice. The live set is where it's at! All those little perfect harmonic parts you guys play, and the shimmering chemistry amongst you all... They are slippery buggers, but if you keep 'em rolling, you'll capture them on tape sooner rather than later!
