| About Nathan Gourley |
|
My dad gave me a fiddle when I was 5 - the first time I was able to actually play it is debatable. I learned through Suzuki and was exposed to a wide variety of music through festivals. My favorite was the Festival of American Fiddle tunes in Port Townsend Washington, where I was awed by the playing of Liz Carroll, Martin Hayes, Alasdair Fraser and many others. I moved to the twin cities after graduating from college at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and have been immersing myself in the great scene around here. I wish I could play Cape Breton piano.
