Chua is also a touring member of Stars of the Lid and a professional photographer, while Summerlin also performs with the band Lords. Chua recorded several self-released CD-Rs’ worth of music before teaming with Summerlin; their first recording as a duo was a split single with Chris Herbert, As Blue as Your Eyes Lover/What I Learned from TV, which was released by the Low Point label in 2007. Early in 2008, Chua and Summerlin teamed with drummer Elvis Beetham and recorded their first album, which included songs Chua had written years before while still in school.
