OCTOBER ISSUE OUT NOOO-O-O-OOW!

KNOW NO BORDERS

Gang Gang Dance, Brian Eno, Diplo, Afro Noise, David Toop

In the digital now, culture is a bustling marketplace where knowledge is cheap, sounds are fluid, and notions of purity shift like sand on breeze.
Plan B revisits the debate around cross–cultural transaction with Brian Eno and David Toop and meets some of the musicians redrawing maps in their own image: New York's Gang Gang Dance, whose St Dymphna spins scattered global sounds into a dance both ethereal and ecstatic, global bass–hound Diplo, and Whitehouse's William Bennett, with his Afro Noise project.

MOGWAI

Back with new album The Hawk Is Howling, Mogwai are dancing, if you're asking

FUCKED UP

Toronto's Fucked Up orbit punk rock on their own strange trajectory, seeking the secrets of existence itself

RUNHILD GAMELSÆTER

Doom's forgotten daughter Runhild Gammelsæter resurfaces with a solo album inspired by the complexity of genetics and the power of love.

PLUS The Dead Science, Those Dancing Days, Siltbreeze Records, Nisennenmondai, Fuck Buttons, Little Boots, The Count And Sinden, L'Acephale, Lambchop, Soft–Boiled Eggies, New Order

LIVE Wire, Boadrum 88, Tujiko Noriko, Ponytail, Colour Out Of Space, Bon Iver

ALBUMS Marnie Stern, Zach Hill, The Organ, Anni Rossi, Deerhunter, Department Of Eagles, Benge, Abe Vigoda, Skream, Mercury Rev, Tilly And The Wall, RTX, Bloc Party

REISSUES St Etienne, Comet Gain, Dredd Foole

Superfreak - New album for FREE

Oct 4 2008 3:13 PM

only at www. lepers. it

*******************************************************

superfreak - since i'm back in bari
our favourite freak sings and dance like a demented monkey
in this asymmetrical folk lo-fi album... if you like out of synch drums,
out of tune guitars and hysterical vocals, you sure will love this.

---------------------------------------------------------------

alexander de large - nazi elvis
a new chapter of de large's search of cosmic pessimism, all
recorded in mono, as if to underline a certain sense of loneliness...
cowpunk, gothfolk, steamcore, call it as you wish, he never gets
pissed...

---------------------------------------------------------------

bread pitt - non fate allarme
an album albout nasty topics like snails, pricks and explosions,
an album about which the Murge was already proud before it was born,
a mass of styles that's useless to enumerate...

*******************************************************

happy lepers will never die...

Tomorrow night sees ex-Deerhoof-er Chris Cohen perorm in Manchester with new band Cryptacize, playing tracks from their recent, goodly album Dig That Treasure (released on Sufjan's Asthmatic Kitty label) and split 7" with Why? Plus a really strong line-up featuring Leeds' perennially dope Cowtown, and reduced entry to those who quote "Tommy Docherty" on the door.
